Visited the lovely (bragged about knowing local ) on a super quick fun trip to the Vail valley. Got slightly inappropriate on The Last DJ on KZYR 97.7 and loved the owner/DJ all the more when he rolled with it (talking about skis and life, naturally). This life is sure a wild ride!

See the fuzzy halo in the light purple yarn? That's because it's NONsuperwash and the little microscopic scales are all wild and free and ready to felt. This also makes it a terrible choice to hold live stitches to remove later for grafting. Next time, I'll use Pima cotton or something. I knew this. I forgot. Maybe this will help my future self, or you.

🪴 While I don't identify as a plant lady, this room hints otherwise. My husband insists we should hang my "painting and sipping" work in here, despite my reservations. "They're not very good", "I paint twice a year, I don't want people to think that I (!) think I'm great at this". 🎨 😳

🐕‍🦺 The dog has a chair in here barely framed out, and he knocked one painting down, which I'll fix... later.

📍This is all to say, let's celebrate the kinda-okay things we make. The Pinterest fails, the living rooms of chaotic lives and the things we'll "fix" later. It's not broken, and at least we're doing.

I'm going to share my occasional other makings more often now that I've transitioned this account to more accurately reflect where I am in life - squeezing various makings into the tiny spaces between the business of living, raising kids (that suddenly have their own lives), and building another small business with my husband hard-fought step at a time.

👵 From watching my elderly grandparents and neighbors, I know that life eventually slows down. Kids won't always need me to be their chauffeur. I'll work less hours, and someday, hopefully, none at all. In the meantime, I'd love to connect more, here and hope this brings togetherness for all of us, however brief and digital it may be. ❤️

I am selling a TWIN SWIFT by Ball and Skein. This is a quality, made in Vermont piece that I paid $398 for with shipping in 2017.

The double swift will hold two skeins of yarn at once and is vertically oriented.

A vertically oriented yarn swift allows for easier unwinding of the yarn, because the yarn is held in a vertical loop, gravity does not cause the yarn to overlap and tangle as with a horizontal swift. Since the yarn can be held on the swift without tension on the pegs, the skein is free to untwist, allowing the yarn to wind off more smoothly. I used this to make mini skeins or to untangle naughty skeins.
