Once again I owe you all an apology. I’m sorry that I haven’t been keeping you updated on Darval. I really have no excuse, except maybe that I just wasn’t up to it yet.
Darval’s cancer has spread. It’s in his bones now, almost all of his ribs are affected. It’s in his chest wall, and has spread from the left side of his liver to the right side. He’s now on Hospice.
Please know how much we appreciate and love you all. Personally, I’m so grateful to you for loving him. He looked forward to you coming to visit with him, or just to check on him and chat for awhile.
He’s at home, if you want to come by and see him and visit for a while, please feel free to come. He would love to see you. Again thank all of you so much. You all mean so very much to us.

Well, I have to apologize again for not keeping you informed about Darval. It has been confirmed that he does have cancer on his liver. The right lobe has quite a bit on it, and there’s a small spot on the left lobe. He has been experiencing a lot of pain. He started treatment Tuesday. He’s getting an immunotherapy infusion. We hoping and praying that it will help with his pain and slow down the growth of the mass. He’s doing very well. He gets tired easily and he’s weak. He has no appetite and has lost weight. He will get these treatments once a month.
He misses being up at the shop and seeing everybody. Sometimes life gets tough. We appreciate all of you guys and are so thankful for your prayers. He still hopes to get back up to the shop one day. With his determination I think he just might do that. Again we miss and appreciate all of you.

I’m so sorry that I have not posted anything about Darval on here for so long. I wish I could tell you that he’s better, but I can’t. He’s getting weaker. He should be starting a treatment in the next couple of weeks. It looks like he won’t get to open at the Burks Bargain Barn anymore. He wants to so much but he’s just not able to. I want all of you to know how much he appreciates all of you. He made so many friends while he was doing that. You all mean so much to both of us. Please pray for us when you think about us. I’ll try to do better about updating on here. In the meantime please know how much you mean to us.

The Burks Bargain Barn will not be open this weekend. Darval is just not feeling up to it. Thank you for your patience with us as we try to figure things out. We appreciate your prayers.

Hey everyone!!! I’m not posting pictures today because I don’t have any new ones. Darval plans on be open at the Burks Bargain Barn tomorrow and Saturday if he’s feeling up to it. I think you already know the hours and location. He was so happy to see those of you that stopped by last weekend. Please know that we appreciate you all.

Darval will be open this weekend, the 12th and 13th of December. There’s a lot of stuff there, this is just a small sample of what you can find there. He wants me to let you know that all the Christmas stuff is half price. We appreciate your patience these past few weeks. He’s gonna try to be open as often as he’s able. The hours are still the same, from 9am until 5pm on Friday and Saturday from 9am until 1pm. We are located at 126 Darval Burks Road. I tried to post this yesterday afternoon, but because of the weather it didn’t go through. Darval was diagnosed with liver cancer this past Tuesday. He was hoping to be open this weekend , but just didn’t feel up to it. He does hope to be open again before Christmas. I’ll post on here(if I can) if he’ll be open. Please keep us in your prayers.
