World Food & Music Festival is an amazing 3-day event in Des Moines. With over 50 food vendors, you can travel the world, experience other cultures right in 'our backyard'!
Mickle Center Shared-Use Kitchen has 2 of our state licensed businesses participating this weekend. Tacos Del Robert and Casa Ruiz! It is a lot of work, prep to pull it off.

Happy Friday!! Mickle Center Shared-Use Kitchen business, Domestic Bones will be at the Des Moines' Downtown Farmers' Market serving up her crafted savory hand pies. This is her 3rd year featuring Hot and Fresh or take frozen home to bake later. She'll be a her usual spot on 5th Street.

Hunger and 'tight times' can affect anyone in our communities. From singles, single parents, working families and senior citizens - people are in need and it could be your neighbor.

Community refrigerators are helping fill the gap in groceries. They are located all over Central Iowa and thanks to organizations like The Food Grid, people can find locations easily.

Friday- Sunday, Hy-Vee is running a $0.99 sale. This morning, I was able to stock up a community refrigerator/pantry with FRESH fruit, vegetables, some meat and quite a bit of pantry staples. Not the best photo but these bags were HEAVY - all for about$70.00.
