As a former 21st Century Program Coordinator, this one hits close to home. 💛
I’ve seen firsthand what 21st Century Community Learning Centers mean for students, families, and entire communities. These programs aren’t just “after school”—they’re safe spaces, creative outlets, and opportunities for kids to grow, connect, and thrive.
That’s why I’m so grateful to see over 300 organizations come together to support FY2027 funding for 21st CCLC. This work matters.
At the same time, the recently proposed federal budget includes plans that could eliminate this funding entirely—cutting programs that so many families rely on.
This is just the beginning of the conversation, but it’s an important moment to continue advocating for the programs that support our youth every single day.
I may no longer be in my coordinator role, but I will always support after-school programs and the incredible professionals behind them. 💫
