Jason, Chris, and Andy recently got an in-depth tour around Fluxwerx, followed by a sunset dinner cruise with some pretty stellar views of Vancouver. A great opportunity to see the craftsmanship behind the products and spend time with the people who bring them to life.

We know you’re probably thinking, “But where were the annual CSLA Iowa State Fair photos this year??” Not to worry, these were worth the wait.

We had another epic day at the ISF, consuming a record amount of delicious new foods and covering an impressive amount of ground. We watched wood carving, drank cotton candy b**r, talked Matt out of taking a baby piglet home as a pet, learned from Alissa why Simmentals are absolutely the superior breed, and Jason dragged us all to the greatest yodeling contest to ever grace Polk County. And if you’ve ever caught yourself wondering whether Rob Beaman could milk a cow while wearing a fedora and suit jacket, the answer is YES.

We also made sure to check on our beloved Meteor Lighting in the barn and geek out over how good it looks!

Every year, we wonder how we could possibly top the year before and yet, we do.

Against their better judgment, Pinicon Ridge let us return this year for our 5th annual CSLA Camping & Float Trip! We brought more people this time, while Mike and Matt brought less sunscreen. The current wasn't as fast as last year resulting in a much longer float so hanger on the Wapsi hit hard by hour 6. It was like Survivor... but with more Busch Light and significantly fewer survival skills. Nonetheless, we persevered and made it back to camp where we refueled with a family dinner and aloe vera. See you next year, Pinicon Ridge!
