MADE FOR HIM | DAY 1: THE TAILORED GENTLEMAN

Two ways to knit 1960s elegance.

The Men’s & Boys’ Nehru Jacket transforms the era’s distinctive standing-collar silhouette into a hand-knitted, button-front jacket with pocket flaps. The original pattern includes men’s sizes 36–44 and children’s sizes 4–14. Its Heritage Edition also explores the style’s South Asian roots and its reinterpretation in 1960s Western fashion.

Beside it, the Sussex Men’s Double-Breasted Cardigan combines a deep V-neck with overlapping fronts, six leather buttons, and grosgrain-backed finishing—casual knitwear with the polished attitude of a tailored jacket. Men’s chest sizes 38–44 inches.

These are two separate Dazespast Heritage Editions: restored vintage knitting instructions, original pattern photographs, historical notes, and practical Modern Maker guidance for today’s knitters.

Digital PDF patterns—not finished garments.

Which would you knit first: the standing-collar Nehru or the double-breasted Sussex?

1960s Tunisian Crochet Turtleneck Sweater Dress

The patterns are vintage. The possibilities are new.

Some designs never lose their appeal.

From the Dazespast archive comes a striking 1960s Tunisian-stitch crocheted turtleneck—a beautiful example of vintage crochet fashion's texture, structure, and craftsmanship.

Look closely at the dramatic rolled collar, the vertical textured pattern, and the garment's sculptural quality.

Now watch the original archival photograph come to life through a contemporary fashion interpretation.

This is what Dazespast Is New Again celebrates: preserving authentic vintage designs while inspiring today's makers to rediscover their possibilities.

And this design isn't just an archival treasure. The original vintage crochet pattern is available for makers who want to recreate it.

Dazespast Is New Again — Vintage Patterns for Modern Makers

DAZESPAST IS NEW AGAIN.

The patterns are vintage. The possibilities are new.

For years, Vintage Patterns by Dazespast has preserved beautiful knitting, crochet, sewing, lace, macramé, and needlework patterns from generations past.

Now we're looking at the archive with fresh eyes.

In this film, six authentic designs travel through six decades—from the 1920s through the 1960s. Each original black-and-white pattern photograph is followed by a contemporary interpretation, while the vintage design remains at the heart of the story.

Why?
Because a wonderful pattern doesn't stop being wonderful simply because decades have passed.

A 1920s knit ensemble can inspire today's knitter.
A beautifully tailored 1930s silhouette can still turn heads.
A 1940s knit can become part of a modern wardrobe.
A 1950s dress can feel sophisticated again.

And the extraordinary textures of 1960s fashion still have something to teach today's makers.

Dazespast is where fashion history meets the modern maker.
Explore the archive. Discover the patterns. Find something worth making.

✨ Vintage Bouclé Fashion — One Yarn, So Many Possibilities

Bouclé was never limited to one silhouette.

In this vintage Clark’s O.N.T. Bouclé Fashions collection, textured yarn becomes part of the design itself — appearing in tailored suits, elegant dresses, sculptural blouses, coordinated separates, and beautifully detailed crochet collars.

The collection includes designs such as the Steeplechase Suit, Sill Knit Suit, Honeycomb Blouse, Afternoon Dress, Sea Foam Collar, and Chiming Bells Collar.

What I love about this collection is how differently bouclé behaves from one design to another. Structure, stitch, shaping, and silhouette can completely change the character of the finished fabric.

🧶 MODERN MAKER’S NOTE

If you’re recreating a vintage bouclé pattern today, don’t choose a substitute yarn simply because the label says “bouclé.”

Modern bouclé yarns can vary considerably in loop size, density, weight, elasticity, thickness, and drape.

Start with the original gauge and intended structure. Swatch generously, check both stitch and row gauge, and pay close attention to fabric weight and drape.

Because bouclé can hide individual stitches, extra care with shaping, seams, edges, buttons, and finishing can make a noticeable difference in the finished garment.

And when blocking, be gentle — you want to preserve that beautiful dimensional texture.

🎥 Watch the new Vintage Bouclé Fashions video and tell me:

Which design would you make first?

Would you choose one of the tailored suits, the Honeycomb Blouse, the Afternoon Dress, or one of those wonderful crochet collars?

The new Dazespast editorial section explores how those historic motifs can inspire a modern wardrobe.

I’m excited to introduce Dazespast 1930s–1940s Suits & Dresses, a curated vintage pattern collection featuring elegant dresses, a cape suit, a jewel-stitch jacket, evening separates, and period accessories.

This book was assembled as a complete wardrobe story—not simply a stack of unrelated patterns. It reflects the long, graceful glamour of the 1930s and the polished structure of the 1940s, with editorial notes to help today’s makers understand how these designs work together.

It also reflects something deeply personal to me: many stylish Black women wore these same silhouettes beautifully, even when vintage publications rarely showed them. That spirit matters to this project.

If you love vintage fashion, knitting, crochet, sewing, and historically inspired making, I think you will love this collection.

What if a vintage pattern collection felt like a vacation wardrobe instead of a bundle?

Morning Leisure -> Poolside -> Beach Club -> Sun & Play -> Afternoon -> Riviera -> After Dark.

Seven vintage knitting and crochet patterns. Swimwear. Cover-ups. A playsuit. A caftan. That extraordinary yellow Riviera pantsuit. And a silver crochet gown for evening.

Preserve the archive, preserve the garment, expand the representation.

The representation may be new; the garment is not.

Which resort moment would you make first?
