Seattle DADU Remodel ☀️

This was a small detached ADU in Seattle that needed a lot of work to make it feel like home (and bring it up to code). Our design-build team worked with the client to bring their vision to life, and the result is a sweet, efficient, and sustainable little home. The gorgeous white oak kitchenette is a stunning centerpiece, and the bathroom feels bigger than it is, with smart upgrades. The French doors opening to the patio were a must have for these homeowners.

Bathroom Remodel

My wife and I bought this house a few years ago. Built 1950ish, she is for sure a fixer upper. The problem is the previous owner tried to DIY a lot of the remodeling and it’s not good. We want to tackle the bathroom first. The floor is higher than the rest of the floors, and the walls are super thick with this textured, thick, hard, wall. The roof is also cracking as well as the walls. My question is, what is the best way to remove the walls and lower the floor? This bathroom, and one room are the only ones that have this thick rough wall.

Drop in tub question

Just bought this house and looking to remodel this bathroom. Can this tile be made flush vs having it have that bump out? Having it go out two tiles takes up more space and was just curious why its that way. Would prefer a smooth wall to tile. And if it was just one tile width, would be easier for bathing my kids.

Tell me I won't hate my counters when we are done 🫣

Freaking out a bit, but we got our mont blanc quartzite counters installed yesterday and I walked in and immediately my heart sank. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful stone in itself but they're SO GRAY, which is not what I wanted at all! I hadn't seen the slabs in over a month and I don't recall them being so gray (they certainly weren't in my head lol). Everyone is telling me it'll warm up when we add our other elements (natural floors and and ivory tile backsplash) but I'm having a hard time seeing how they don't read predominately gray. I also don't love the thickness of the lip but the contractor said that had to add 2 layers of plywood underneath given the material is fragile. That I can live with but the gray is bumming me out!

Has this happened to anyone else? Did you end up loving it in the end?
