Dolly ~ you will always been an inspiration to women everywhere. đ¤â¨
A pioneer in country music and led the way when so many women couldnâtânot because they didnât have the talent or the dreams, but because of the backlash, criticism, and expectations placed on women who dared to be bold.
She stayed true to her passion. Stayed true to herself. And somehow, through all of it, she managed to be glamorous, hilarious, talented, brilliant, and unapologetically DOLLY. đ
My family absolutely loved her in 9 to 5. Watching women in the corporate world take chargeâand then, well⌠kidnap their boss đâwas just incredible to me. I still love that movie today.
And I have to admit⌠The Best Little Wh******se in Texas is another movie that vividly sticks in my mind. I honestly have no idea why I was allowed to watch it at such a young age. đ But I fell in love with the glamour, the music, the costumes, and ALL of those incredible outfits. I was way too young to understand what was actually going onâI just thought, âI want to dress like THAT!â đâ¨
And then there was Dollyâs most memorable lesson in my own childhoodâŚ
When I was becoming a woman and not developing as quickly as the other girls, they made fun of me for being flat-chested. My mom would always say, âJust wait, honey. One day youâll wake up and be like Dolly PartonâŚâ
Honestly? I was TERRIFIED. đđđ
But thatâs the thing about Dolly. She made women feel like they could be exactly who they were. Big dreams, big personality, big heartâand yes, big b***s. đ
