Me getting absolutely cooked on into the wild boxes. My daughter pulls three enchanted buying the next box under the ones I got 3 times. I keep telling her this isn’t normal but she just started collecting and now thinks every box has one lol.

Sorting my cards and had to share this bit of awesome I picked up in a collection somewhere in the past. Al McCoy was the voice of the Phoenix Suns from 1972 to 2023. This Topps card was made in 1994 but not sure why. Can’t find another one online. He was a joy to listen to him call a game especially when he would yell Shazam for a 3 pointer or the epic wham bam slam for a dunk.

In 1990 Brian Pulido had an idea for an undead Psychopath named Ernie, his sidekick Smiley and the his true love Lady Death. He advertised for an artist in two trade magazines with the first image of creation drawn by Eric Mache. The person that answered that ad was the late Steven Hughes and a short time later I walked into a comic shop and had a copy of Evil Ernie #1 shoved in my hand. 35 years later I’m still buying comics and relics of the Evil One. Tonight on kickstarter the first republishing in Omnibus format of the classic Chaos comics run (and Eternity) is opening for pledges on Kickstarter in a partnership between Brian Pulido and Dynamite Comics. Cannot wait so be you an old school fiend or Sworn do not miss this. If you just love horror comics or stories you will love this too.

it saddens me that people are starting to realize how rare these are out of the Topps holiday boxes. I’ve been picking up as many as I could get cheap. Each border variant is like 1 in 3002 packs of Topps Holiday. I paid 60 bucks for the graded Kon at the start of the year and just saw a raw sell for almost 600 a couple of days.ago. There’s no known print run but it’s guessed less than 10 of each type. There’s holly, Santa bag, candy cane and ornaments. I see the candy cane a lot more than the others.

Why I was looking at Cy Young autos yesterday I noticed this weirdness. Psa/dna authenticated 1956 Artvue Cy Young auto type 2 hof plaque postcard. Cy Young died in 1955. Checked the cert number and it shows it authenticated. Guess he used a pencil attached to an Ouija Board planchet.

Well apparently may have an issue if the card is from Topps. The first image is a Cy Young autograph cut from a post card. The second image is a know example of a Cy Young auto from the start of when this autograph could have been signed. If you notice besides the lack of similar structure and the fact that all Cy young autos have a visible right slant the signs of age are starting to show. Now how do I know when it was signed. The postcard was made by the Artvue Postcard company was only in existence from 1948 to 1963. So unlike some defenders of this card it only could have been made near the end of his life (he passed away in 1955) 100 percent have to agree with who called this out immediately. It isn’t even close. . By the way side note Artvue made postcards for the hall of

made a post trying to convince you to pay 50 bucks for a blaster of . The ad was ridiculous with look what may be hiding in a $50 blaster. I had already bought four blasters based on faith in topps but quickly realized the hits had been stripped from the product to fill breakers delight and other packs the price wasn’t. It was ridiculously expensive. I’ve let them sit there like everyone else. I’m a set collector so just a decent return price makes me happy. This is just hot garbage. I went and bought a box specifically to place the contents on their ad page and show what’s actually hiding in the box. Yes you can get lucky but it’s not a lottery. What you should not do is spend 50 bucks and feel ripped off. Thats what Topps is doing with this product and update. Its needs to change are all they are going to have left are useless breakers crying their spots are not high enough because all the collectors have left the hobby.

Little late but finished my office Christmas card pencils. Used an antique postcard and added our Grady Elf on the Shelf and of course the greatest food on Earth in Santa’s Pocket. The Publix pub Sub. Fire the printer up and print out 12 of them for my office area.

Posted this on a page about sports cards as they were debated the grade switching scandal with PSA and the monopoly PSA is creating. Most of the posts about it on sponsored pages are getting removed because the spin and pr department is going into overdrive. We may not be able to control what companies involved in our various collections do but we can control who we do business with. Im going to do a longer post but since one of the big spins on this story is ridiculous on its face figured I would just start with this.

Since one of the big reasons scandals involving PSA are dismissed as "they are not buying the card directly". That theory doesn't hold water. They are facilitating the sale and collecting money on it just like they collect a commission to sell on ebay from the vault. So they take a cut to grade it. They take a cut if they grade it high, they take a cut to store it, they take a cut to sell it and they take a cut broker it repackers. Meanwhile they also decide what its worth, what condition its in (or as they have been accused if there is too many in that condition). They control all aspects of the hobby including the minds of the lemmings (investors) who are manipulated to worship at the feet PSA for the alleged blessing of more value which means a higher cut for them. Oh well. Blessed be the Slab. So PSA may it be.
