When a designer hires you to design her own home, there’s a quiet moment: how is this going to work?

Especially when she has an undergrad in interior design and a master’s in industrial design! You feel that instantly.

But there was no hesitation. No interviews. She trusted my expertise and wanted a timeless, highly functional home that merged her style with her husband’s, a trained chef. The kitchen was entirely designed for her husband.

What followed was a full first floor transformation. A gutted kitchen, completely reimagined. Even the exterior wall was reworked to make the layout work.

Designing for another designer was magic. We spoke the same language. With an incredible general contractor, a deeply engaged client, and our design team, it all just clicked!

At one point our client said, “Ayten, I think we made about 10,000 decisions in this kitchen.”

She wasn't wrong!

Hello Spring. 🌿🌱🌱

Constraints are just the beginning of the conversation. When an HOA mandate meant a black awning, we did not fight it. We let it become the anchor for the entire design.
Black metal frames, natural rattan, warm stone, and graphic contrast.

I learned in my formal studies that visual clarity in your presentation reflects clarity in the actual design. Positive and negative space are equally important.

This spring patio concept is a reminder that limitations are not roadblocks. They are cues to set the stage for something beautiful with details that can be added once the design concept is solidified.

*This design started with hand sketches, visual collaging, and digital presentation. Our studio utilizes AI strategically in our processes, but AI was not used for this concept.

February. The month of love. ♥️

Bold color. Vibrant energy. Pink has always been one of my favorite colors to wear, and a classic red lip is simply part of my signature.

February is also my birth month, and yes, I am a Pisces. Creative, intuitive, deeply feeling… learning over time that sensitivity is not a weakness, but a strength that simply needs direction.

A little story about my name…

In Turkish, “Ay” means moon, and my name reflects a quiet, radiant presence. A reminder that you do not have to compete to be seen. You simply shine.

And this year… Valentine’s arrived a little early. Some gestures do not believe in waiting. 🙏♥️💋

Let’s just say it is a beautiful feeling to be thought of.

Here is to a month of color, quiet magic, and unexpected moments.

When someone truly cares, they always find a way.
Portugal → London → North Carolina ♥️

While preparing for upcoming local, national, and international trade shows, where design and craftsmanship converge, I was searching for shoes that are both stylish and comfortable enough to walk in all day.

Fly London, a Portuguese brand, does not make crossing borders easy.

But a very special person did. 🥰

They arrived unexpectedly, tried on in pajamas, paired with a corduroy jumpsuit, and it felt right.

Hey December! 🌲

Soaking in the holiday magic of London with the people I love the most. ♥️

Every detail inspires my design, helping me create nationally published & award-winning Interior Architecture & Interior Design projects. 🙏

I also have to remind myself to be more intentional with who and what I give my time to. Time is one of our most valuable assets, and I want to use it more wisely. Always a work in progress…

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.🍁

I have so much to be grateful for, and at the very top of that list is my son, the best son a mother could ever ask for. ♥️

I am also deeply thankful for my family and the inner circle who continue to anchor me. 😘

This past year brought lessons, inspiration, and growth in ways I am still finding the words for, including the beautiful wisdom our beloved dog left behind. A piece of my heart left with my Cooper. 🐾
