Some of the strongest projects start long before construction ever begins.

Yesterday, our team split up for two incredible days of connection and camaraderie. While one group spent the day participating in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County's Golf Fore Kids' Sake event, another took on a Doylestown-wide scavenger hunt filled with teamwork, problem-solving, and plenty of laughs.

We're proud to once again support Golf Fore Kids' Sake, an event that helps raise funds to connect local children with caring mentors who can make a lasting impact on their lives. Seeing our team come together in support of such an important mission is something we're always honored to be part of.

Whether it was navigating scavenger hunt clues or spending the day on the golf course supporting our community, both experiences shared a common purpose: strengthening the relationships that make our team who we are.

The trust, communication, and camaraderie built outside the office don't stay there. They carry into every client meeting, every design decision, and every project we complete. When a team genuinely enjoys working together, the results speak for themselves.

Mixing wood finishes isn't inherently a design mistake. Some of the most beautiful homes combine light and dark woods, warm and cool tones, and a variety of textures. The challenge comes when there isn't a clear relationship between them.

A good place to start is by identifying the dominant wood tone in the room. Is it your flooring, cabinetry, beams, or furniture? Once you've established the anchor, look for complementary tones that share similar undertones or create intentional contrast. Repeating wood tones throughout the space can also help create rhythm and make the room feel more cohesive.

If your home already has a variety of wood finishes, don't panic. Layering in textiles, paint colors, hardware, and other materials can help bridge the gap and create visual connections between elements that may otherwise feel disconnected.

The difference between a space that feels eclectic and one that feels curated often comes down to intentionality. That's where working with a designer can make all the difference! Not everyone is the loudest person in the room. Sometimes, the people making the biggest impact are the ones quietly showing up every day and putting in the work. Shaun is one of these people!
