Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from soybeans. The majority of the world's soybeans come from the Midwestern United States. From the soybeans, the oil is extracted. Hydrogenating the oil lowers the melting point, making it solid at room temperature and suitable for candle use. Other waxes, such as paraffin wax (the most common to wax used to make candles-such as what you would find the "big box" s

tores) comes from petroleum, coal, or oil shale. It is cheaper and more available than soy wax because it is a by-product of petroleum. Soy wax, a vegetable-based wax made from a bean is therefore much more environmentally friendly and healthier for you to burn in your home than a petroleum-based biproduct. Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, so our candles last noticeably longer. There is also significantly less soot. Natural soy carries fragrance without requiring additional chemical amplifiers, which provides a consistent balanced scent throughout the life of the candle. So life has been a little bit crazy for us and Dresser Hill Candles has been put on the back burner for a little, but we are very excited to announce that we are back at making some delicious smelling candles for fall and Christmas. The website is not active at the moment because of the cost associated with it. So if anyone wants any candles for Fall or Christmas, just let me know. You can send me a PM and I’ll be happy to make them for you. The following scents will be available along with wax warmers and wax tarts.

Fall Scents: Apple Crisp, Baked Apple Pie, Blueberry Pie, Pumpkin Caramel Delight, Pumpkin Maple Nut Waffles, Pumpkin Soufflé, Spiced Pumpkin Patchouli, Banana Nut Bread, Coffee House, Leaf Peeper, Vanilla Pumpkin Pie.
