I had the pleasure of meeting Bernie Lubell today. He wandered into the bookstore and after some chatting he told me he makes "interactive wood machines." You never know what magic a person carries.

This video presents a selection of 6 interactive Installations in 6 minutes: "...and the Synapse Sweetly Singing" 2003 - Is a tin-can telephone model of the brain. It allows you to crank yourself into a coffin and communicate with those left outside. "Conservation of Intimacy" 2005 - Using 19th cent...

Deeply grateful for the gathering of poets today. This is how I have always dreamed this space would look and feel.

It's always such a treat to hang with Luke down at The North 103.3 FM! He is a tireless supporter of this community and a major talent himself - writer, actor, AND musician. We had a chat about the bash on Saturday. Come down early and spend the day. Mid Dream kicks us off at 11:00; Charlie Parr takes the stage at noon, followed by Danny Frank and Erin Aldridge; Terrance & Friends (Maypole!); and we will end the day with Katey Bellville and Sons coming all the way up from the Twin Cities.

Katey Bellville & Sons will headline the August 8th Bash and if you've never heard this woman sing, hold on to your sun hats, friends! http://www.kateybellville.com/clue

"The Twin Cities’ sweetheart of Bluegrass, Americana and Folk is Katey Bellville. Quiet and unassuming, Katey has been singing all her life and has received high marks from some of the huge artists of our day. But you wouldn’t know it when you meet her. Not until you hear her simple honest sweet songs."

‘Katey Bellville, your CD, "Clue" has made me smile, laugh, and cry. It's absolutely delicious and it's one of the few cd's that I have listened to front to back in a long time. It would be impossible for me to be any more proud to know you’.     -Jeremy Carlsrud (Menomonie, WI)
