I’m watching Extreme Home Makeover. These shows make what we do feel unreasonable. Cabinets take 8 weeks plus delivery time, countertops are at a minimum 4 weeks and that’s assuming we have all our ducks in a row. I could go on and on…. You don’t want a house or remodel that’s done in 5 days. You want people & subs who have done this for a minimum of 15 + years. We have long lasting, tried & true business relationships, we’ve paid our bills, we’ve stayed in business as independent contractors & paid our taxes none of which is easy. I rarely post anything because I don’t want to be controversial but these types of shows set people up for unreasonable expectations. God bless my people, you know who you are. If you want to embark on a big project you won’t be disappointed with us. But I guarantee you it will not happen in 5 days. Enjoy the show! But know it is in no way real. Have ever you purchased a home where the previous owner made some choices you weren't crazy about? We were approached by a former client to create a style narrative for her newly acquired home. The house was a large Craftsman with lots of dark accents and masculine finishes from the prior owner. There were some areas we could not do anything about, the large fireplace/tv wall needed to stay in tact. The kitchen was newer but encased in dark woodwork with granite tops. We had planned to paint this little sunroom white but in the end the light colored sun resistant fabrics, skirted burlap table, and woven backless bench made it feel so light and airy that we loved the contrast of the moody stain with our linen fabrics! We covered up the wood floor with a custom printed rug to make this room feel like the sunny destination it is, all year round.

Who needs an office re-fresh!? Think about it, we greet our clients and guests in our office space and this environment should reflect the quality of our work. We at KGDCO recently updated our office and it feels inspiring! This is a project we did for a local foundation that needed an update. We used organic green and blue colors, landscape artwork and natural materials to give their office a calm and serene narrative. Does your work space need an update? Get in touch with us! The "after" photo of our new closet system at the office from ! We used a Driftwood finish with warm brass hardware for an upscale and timeless look. We are better organized with our fabrics, wallpaper samples, custom rugs, tile and countertop samples. Treat yourself to closet systems, they elevate the vibe and keep you organized! Duluth MN is home to some of the most elegant and beautiful old houses I have ever seen. Some say that around the turn of the century Duluth was home to more millionaires than any other city. Many of these homes were designed with quarters for maids, cooks and chauffer's. The kitchens were regulated to the back of the home and there was no such thing as a drop zone, mail center or back hall entryway. ​​​​​​​​​🛠️🛠️When updating these homes for modern family life, our team takes care to honor the unique history of the property while giving the homeowners better flow, updated and unique storage ideas, an efficient work triangle and updated electrical/lighting solutions.
🎨As designers we bring in historical color palettes, updated yet traditional materials and fixtures that reinforce the architecture of the home.
It was a pleasure to work on this project, we kept the original footprint as requested by the homeowners. We showed them and they approved computer generated images of what their kitchen would look like right down to the cabinet and floor colors. Because we are a full service design studio, we were also able to provide the bar stools in a commercial stain resistant fabric.

People ask us, "How do you even begin to start a project?"​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
🔥We start with whatever is inspiring us right now! We are constantly ordering new samples (fabric, hardware, cabinet door styles/colors, countertops, tile, flooring) so they're at our fingertips when we need them. ​​​​​​​​
For this project we were inspired by the rustic quarter sawn cabinet door with the contrast of the sleek warm brass hardware. We added the countertop with the subtle movement that mirrored some of the colors in graining of the door. The lighter wood is the flooring to keep the space light and luminous We added the Serpent Fabric as a pillow on a banquette to tie all the colors in with a fun pattern and texture. ​​​​​​​​

Wow your guests with a newly refreshed Powder Room! 🪄 ​​​​​​​​
This is a space where we love to get creative. For this little gem we used pattern, color, texture and warm wood tones to create a vibrant and interesting space. ​​​​​​​​

Powder Rooms are a great place to make bold choices and have fun mixing materials. We started with a shiny emerald green penny tile with navy grout. Our client is an artist, so for the walls we went straight to Eskayel which provides wallpaper, rugs, fabric and accessories designed from artist's original artwork. The Rejuvenation Haleigh Glass Dome pendant in Opal provides a flattering light. The Bemma Designs cabinet is a sleek modern design with warm brass accents/quartz top and is finished off with the Kohler Purist one handle faucet. When your guests aren't enjoying it you will be!

Currently, we are working with a local church to redesign their parlor. Their parlor committee consisted of the pastor, a donor, a facilities volunteer and a congregation member. They were stumped as to how to incorporate some of the traditional finishes of the room into an updated event space and make the most of their budget. They hired us to guide them through the process and create a vision board they could present to their congregation. This way, the project is being led by a professional and can be confidently presented to members of the congregation. ​​​​​​​​
