Today, I closed a chapter that has shaped so much of who I am. As designers, we spend our careers creating beautiful spaces for others. Now, I’m intentionally designing a life that feels just as meaningful… for ME.
It’s hard to put into words what this chapter has meant to me. BOWA gave me opportunities to grow as a designer, a leader, and a person. I’m incredibly grateful for the clients I’ve met, the projects I’ve been trusted with, and the friendships that I’ll carry with me long after today with the best coworkers I could have ever asked for. I will miss you all so much. Thank you to my team Kelli Blaisdell Interiors Quinette Hoag Maddie Warlick KDeWitt for being my people. I can’t wait to keep watching you all grown and see the amazing spaces you create. And to my friend, and the best mentor I’ve ever had Lauren Magee, AIA , Lauren, you have shown me what it means to be a true professional in this industry. I’m so grateful for the time we have had together. Also big hugs and love to my A1 since day 1, my work wife and one of my best friends, Kristin Verter Ikenson. I love you!
But sometimes the greatest success isn’t climbing higher. It’s recognizing when it’s time to slow down.
For the first time in my life, I’m choosing to press pause.
To trade deadlines for slow mornings.
To be the mother my kids deserve.
To spend more time with my husband.
To rediscover hobbies I’ve always said I’d get around to.
To create, breathe, and simply enjoy this moment of my life.
This season is giving me the space to explore who I am as an individual, my own creative voice, to continue growing as a designer, continue building my personal brand, and taking projects that reflect who I am, and how I love to design.
I’m excited to see where this next chapter leads. But for now, success looks a little different. It looks like slower mornings, more family dinners, more volunteering for a cause, finding my self again, and being fully present for the moments that matter most.
Here’s to embracing change, trusting the timing, and building a life that’s just as beautiful as the spaces we create. 🤍
