A touch of concrete in the garden can add so much when placed properly. A fountain, a piece of statuary, a bird bath or a walkway of stepping stones make a nice statement among the greenery. Keep us in mind when deciding on embellishments for your yard. Maybe you even need a huge whimsical metal frog. He's painted with a weather resistant auto-body paint that holds up better than most.

STOKES ASTER - a stunning, low-maintenance herbaceous perennial NATIVE to the Southeastern United States. Famous for its large, fringed, daisy-like blossoms, it thrives in the heat and provides vibrant color in shades of blue, purple, pink, or white from early summer through fall.
Key CharacteristicsAppearance: Features shaggy, 2-to-4 inch blooms on erect stems rising above a neat, semi-evergreen rosette of dark green leaves.Size: Typically grows 1 to 2 feet tall and spreads 12 to 18 inches wide, making it excellent for borders and containers.Wildlife Value: Highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.Hardiness: Deer and rabbit resistant. Just like people, there are those who don't tolerate the sun but thrive in shade. Impatiens are in that family.
Impatiens are popular, low-maintenance, shade-loving bedding and container plants. They provide continuous color from spring until the first frost in autumn. They thrive in moist, well-draining soil and partial to full shade, but are extremely sensitive to cold.
Key Characteristics
Types: The most common bedding varieties are Impatiens walleriana, while larger, sun-tolerant varieties are known as New Guinea impatiens.
Colors: Available in vibrant shades of white, pink, red, purple, coral, and orange.The "Touch-Me-Not": The genus name, Impatiens, derives from the violent seed discharge of ripe pods. When bumped, the ripe pods burst to scatter seeds.

Blackberries always remind me of Father's Day. We used to have a bramble of wild blackberries growing at the front of our property and Bre would make Dane a blackberry tart for Father's Day. I miss those days! Father's Day is Sunday, June 21 this year. Don't forget dear ol' dad!

A couple of Cherries Jubilee came in from the farm last week. If you love these, call before making the trip to make sure they are still available. Google says it's a stunning, fast-growing tropical vine (Allamanda cathartica) that produces vibrant, trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of cherry-red, burgundy, and mauve. It is an evergreen, Florida-friendly plant perfect for trellises, mailboxes, or cascading over garden walls. It needs full sun for maximum blooming. It will grow in shadier spots, but produce fewer flowers. It thrives in well-drained soil. It has moderate water needs and is drought-tolerant once established. It may wilt on hot afternoons but bounces back quickly with watering.Temperature: Being a true tropical, it grows best in USDA Zones 9B to 11 (making it highly suitable for Rainbow Springs/Central Florida). It may go semi-dormant and drop leaves in the winter, but quickly springs back in mid-spring.Pruning: It responds exceptionally well to pruning. You can prune it in the early fall after peak blooming to shape the plant and control its rapid growth. Apply a slow-release, bloom-boosting fertilizer in the spring to encourage continuous flushes of flowers. Because these vines become woody with age and have flexible, arching limbs, they don't produce tendrils to cling to walls. They need a little help to get started, making them ideal for training up arbors, lattices, and fences or letting them drape as a colorful accent
