Durham Garden Center

Durham Garden Center We’re home to a healthy selection of houseplants, local artisan pottery, native plants, garden centerpieces, seeds, soil, and supplies.

Durham-owned, horticulture for all. You are welcome here 🌈 esp. kids, dogs, and pollinators. As of 2020, we are renovating the space and rethinking how our center can learn and grow with our Durham community. Our staff is new to the shop, but we are no spring bunnies. We are trained horticulturists, artists, foragers, cooks, community planners, and propagation specialists. We hope you love the new

look as much as we do! Are you a local artist looking for a bustling space to sell your plant-related work? Email us at [email protected]

Happy Memorial Day! Instead of speeding up this Memorial Day, why not slow down and appreciate the little moments (like watching a busy bee drift from one bloom to the next!) A gentle reminder that beauty, growth and freedom are things worth protecting a remembering.

Take me outside! Do you know that summer in NC is a great time to take your tropical plants outside (in shade)? These plants are native to the understory of the rainforest so outdoor heat, humidity and indirect sunlight are where they thrive. Try moving your Pothos, Monstera, Fiddle leaf figs and Philodendrons outdoor to places like carports, covered porches or underneath broad trees!
