A few days in Copenhagen and I came home inspired in all the best ways.
What struck me most wasn't any one museum, building, or design shop - it was how effortlessly everything worked together. Contemporary Danish design tucked inside buildings that have stood since the 1600s. Bold colors and unexpected patterns used without apology. Homes filled with fewer things, but better things.
There was a confidence to it all.
People seemed less concerned with trends and more interested in surrounding themselves with what they genuinely loved. The same could be said for their personal style. No one looked like they were trying to fit into a mold. They wore what felt right to them, and somehow that individuality made the city feel even more beautiful.
And then there's fika - a dedicated pause for coffee, conversation, and a little something sweet. Not rushed. Not squeezed between meetings. Just time to connect and recharge. Twice a day, if you're doing it right.
The trip was a reminder that good design isn't just about beautiful spaces. It's about creating a life that reflects who you are.
Mix old with new. Choose quality over quantity. Add the color. Keep the heirloom. Take the coffee break. Wear the thing that makes you happy. And most importantly, make time to celebrate the people you love.
It's also a reflection of how I sources pieces for our shoppe. I’m not looking for items that simply follow trends. I'm looking for pieces with character, craftsmanship, and staying power - things that can live comfortably alongside what you already own and love. Pieces that feel collected rather than decorated.
Copenhagen, thank you for the inspiration. 🤍
