Update on P***y wood Spalted Maple bowl.
Good news is its done!
Fought me the whole way with cracks and what not. Then had a really bad dismount and sent it whirling.
But hey, start with fire wood and if you mess it all up you still have fire wood.
Still looks nice just dont look close 🤣😇
Finished with butcher block oil so if nothing else it'll make a nice popcorn bowl!

Friend of mine had a big tree branch, half the tree really, fall in her back yard. She really like that tree too. So I asked if she would like a "remember bowl" made from it. Here is result from origin to finish.
Wood was green and very wet so had to do a twice turned operation where you turn it thick then microwave dry the blank. After it dried to acceptable moisture content took to finished shape and finished with Danish Oil.

Going to have to remember how to do it. It's been at least a year maybe 2 since I have spun out a bowl. Wish me luck!

Well, latest project not exactly a wood working g project however there was a bit of saw dust made.
Converted my dad's old golf cart (1986) from lead acid batteries to Lithium ion. Shaved about 250lbs by doing so. Still need to organize and pin so wiring in place, which will happen tomorrow. Thing runs like banshee now!
