When homeowners come to us with an interior design project, the solution isn’t always to start from scratch. Sometimes there are parts of the home they genuinely love and want to keep.

For this home, our clients loved the flooring, the fireplace surround, and the wood beams. Those details gave the house character, so we kept them and focused on designing with them in mind.

We updated the paint, added architectural molding to balance the cavernous room, refreshed the lighting, reworked the built-ins on either side of the fireplace, and then layered in furnishings, art, and accessories that felt more like our clients and the way they wanted to live.

The result is a space that feels fresh, personal, and completely transformed without losing the parts of the home that already felt special.

That’s one of our favorite parts of design, the challenge to keep elements in a home while completely reimagining the space.

This project is the perfect example of what full-service, concierge design can mean for a homeowner.

Our clients were living out of state when they purchased their forever home in the Pheonix area, which meant every detail needed to be handled with trust, communication, and complete coordination from our team. After meeting onsite together once, we managed everything locally on their behalf. Final design decisions, construction oversight, moving logistics, vendor coordination, furnishings, styling, and the transition of consolidating two homes into one seamless space.

Every moving piece was handled so our clients could experience the excitement of the transformation without carrying the stress of managing it all.

Their initial impression of the home and objective was clear:
“The house feels like a grandma’s house… and we want it to feel like us.”

As a young couple settling into their forever home, they loved the character and architectural charm of the house. It just didn’t reflect their season of life, their energy, or the way they wanted to live day to day.

Rather than erase the original charm of the home, we leaned into it. We layered in contemporary furnishings, updated lighting and paint, designed custom built-ins that felt more aligned with their style, and thoughtfully incorporated personal artwork and meaningful collected pieces throughout the home.

The result feels elevated, warm, personal, and completely reflective of this season of their life together.
That’s what thoughtful design should do.
Not just make a home look better, but make it feel like you belong there the moment you walk in.

We hear it all the time, “no one uses color in Arizona.” We do. And we’re all in.

The oohs and awws say it all. This color sets the entire mood of the room. What started as dated greige is now a confident, modern blue that feels both calm and bold.

This primary suite is already transformed, and we’re only halfway through. What’s that perfect shade of blue? It’s Mineral Deposit by Sherwin Williams.
