One thing clients are always surprised by?

Styling has its own line item in our proposal. From day one.

Styling isn’t something we figure out after the furniture arrives and the rest of the selections are installed. We’re collecting pieces throughout the project, not after it. By installation day, styling has become part of the design process, so every object feels like it was always meant to be there.

Some of those pieces come from us. Some have always belonged to our clients. We love weaving personal pieces together with texture, greenery, oversized accessories, and sculptural objects that complement the design and make the home feel unmistakably theirs.

A room can be beautifully designed and still not feel finished. Styling is what transforms a beautifully designed space into a beautifully lived-in home.

People often assume a room feels “off” because of the furniture. The sofa isn’t quite right. The rug feels too small. Maybe the lighting needs to be updated. So they start replacing individual pieces, hoping the room will finally come together.

More often than not, the issue started long before any of those decisions were made.
One of the biggest misconceptions about interior design is that beautiful homes are created by selecting beautiful things.

In reality, beautiful homes begin with understanding the people who live there. Their routines. Their wish list. The way they gather. The way they move through the space. Only then do we begin solving the layout.

Once the plan is carefully solved like a puzzle, the design decisions become much clearer. Furniture feels like it belongs. Lighting supports the way the room is used. Every decision has a purpose because every decision is built on the one before it.

When our clients talked about this ensuite, they weren’t focused on finishes or furniture. They wanted friends and family to arrive, settle in, and immediately feel at home. The kind of space where guests could unpack, catch up on work if they needed to, enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the morning, and feel like every detail had been considered.

Inspired by a mix of desert warmth and lakeside ease, we layered soft neutrals, rich textures, and just the right amount of contrast to create a guest suite that feels more like a boutique hotel than a spare bedroom. A custom, built-in workstation, thoughtful amenities, and comfortable furnishings make it just as practical as it is inviting.

Before & After | Park Lane Primary Bathroom

We’ve noticed a shift over the last several years. Clients aren’t just asking for beautiful bathrooms anymore. They’re asking for spaces that support wellness.

At Park Lane, our clients wanted dedicated spaces for bathing, relaxation, and everyday rituals that would feel just as comfortable years from now as they do today. Inspired by the timeless experience of ancient Roman baths, we completely reimagined the layout with a steam shower, light therapy, color therapy, aromatherapy, dry sauna, soaking tub, and private vanity room, layered in marble, warm woods, and dramatic onyx.

You can usually tell when a home was last updated within the first few minutes of walking through it. The polished brass of the ‘80s. Heavy Tuscan finishes from the early 2000s. Cool gray walls and matte black hardware that defined much of the last decade. Every generation leaves its own design fingerprint.

What makes the biggest impact and return on investment? We always come back to the same three things: lighting, paint, and hardware. They instantly shift the timelessness of a home and influence nearly everything else.

Lighting changes how colors read, how materials feel, and how comfortably a home functions. Paint is about much more than choosing a color. And hardware has an incredible ability to change the personality of a space without changing the cabinetry itself.

When those three elements are working together, a home begins to feel current, cohesive, and classically designed instead of tied to a particular decade.

One thing we’ve noticed over the years is that people put a tremendous amount of thought into the rooms everyone else sees.

The kitchen. The great room. The dining room. But the bedroom? The room they actually spend the most time in? That one often becomes an afterthought.

Which is interesting, considering we spend about a third of our lives there. It’s where we wake up, unwind after long days, read one more chapter, sleep in on Saturday mornings, connect with the people we love, recover when we’re under the weather, and recharge before doing it all again tomorrow.

We think that deserves a little more attention. That’s why every bedroom we design begins with the same question: How do you want this room to feel? Not what color should it be. Not what’s trending. How do you want to feel when you walk through the door at the end of a long day?

The answer is different every time. Some clients are drawn to soft, calming layers. Others love rich color, bold contrast, or a boutique hotel feel. Our job isn’t to recreate a style. It’s to create a bedroom that feels personal to the people who live there. After all, the room you spend the most time in should probably feel the most like you!

Before & After | Sedona Wine Lounge

We were looking through old project photos the other day and came across these before
images. It’s always fun to look back and remember where a project started.

Who would’ve guessed this exterior porch would become one of the most relaxed rooms in the house? Inspired by Sedona’s landscape, we layered warm woods, natural stone, onyx, copper, and steel to create a wine lounge that feels connected to its surroundings in every season.

Why Some Homes Feel Right, A Design Series | Part 3: Focal Point

Have you ever walked into a room and felt like your eye was bouncing from one thing to the next?

Chances are, the room was missing a clear focal point.

We actually see this quite a bit. Homeowners find beautiful pieces over time, a piece of art they love, a statement light fixture, a beautiful accent chair, and understandably want each one to stand out. The challenge is that when everything is trying to be the star of the room, nothing really is.

One of the first things we’re thinking about when we design is, “Where do we want your eye to land?” Once we know the answer, every other decision starts supporting it.
Sometimes the home gives us a focal point. A fireplace. A wall of windows. Incredible architecture. Other times, we create one. But either way, we don’t let five different elements compete for the same job.

People often assume a professionally designed room has more interesting things to look at.

We’d argue it has fewer things asking for your attention. That’s why professionally designed homes often feel calmer. Your eye knows exactly where to go first, then naturally enjoys everything else along the way.

There is something really special about opening your front door and feeling proud of what people are about to experience. Not in a showy way. In a “I’m so happy you’re here” kind of way.

That’s why we never think of a foyer as just a place to walk through. We think of it as the welcome.

For Bayview Cove, each individual layer mattered. Wallpaper that adds warmth. Lighting that creates presence. Furnishings that subtly repeat patterns from the rest of the home. Texture that makes the space feel lived in rather than newly decorated.

One of our favorite parts is imagining our clients opening the door for family and friends and feeling proud of the home they’re welcoming them into.

One of the things we’ve loved most about Terrace Avenue is watching this primary suite become something entirely different than where it started.

When we first walked through the home, we knew the square footage wasn’t the issue. The layout was. So, instead of making it bigger, we made it better.

We completely reimagined the existing footprint to create a private water closet, his-and-hers walk-in closets, generous double vanities, a soaking tub, and a spacious shower. Looking at it now, it’s hard to believe this is the same space.

Standing in these rooms now feels a little surreal. For months, this space only existed in conversations, sketches, and renderings. Now, we’re walking through it, watching every decision we’ve made begin to connect.
Construction is nearly behind us, which means we’re getting closer to the chapter we’ve been anticipating from the very beginning. Furnishings. Styling. Artwork. The layers that bring warmth, personality, and life to a home.
