Currently on Sale: A very charming set of six French dining chairs from the Directoire period. Circa 1790. The frames are solid bleached beechwood nicely patinated with pegged mortise & tenon joinery. Scrolled square, tapered backs with carved rosettes above pierced splats ending in rosettes on the front legs. Wearing old, worn upholstery with nailhead trim. These dining chairs are very sturdy and suitable for everyday use.

SALE!!! 19th c. wood-block printed French panoramic wallpaper scenes in the Directoire style very likely by the premier French manufacturer, Zuber & Cie. Presenting a panorama of park and garden scenes in vibrant French blue and gray tones. Laminated on Masonite/wooden panels and framed ~10 years ago. On each board there is an animated scene evoking the states of married life (meeting, marriage, raising children/grandchildren, quarreling, widowhood). An extraordinary collection found in Paris. Each panel is 84″ H x 24.25″ W. When grouped together, the collection is 84″ H x 145.5″ W. Panels are for decorative purposes. The antique finish is highly pigmented and chalk-like. The color will transfer if touched.
