🔥 This weekend heat is no joke, and these two have been stealing the show.

Our Root Beer House Ice is made with homemade root beer flavoring poured over shaved ice and topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and crushed root beer barrel candy. Beside it is our classic Root Beer Float, piled high with frothy goodness and old-fashioned soda fountain charm.

If root beer isn’t your thing, don’t worry—we have plenty of other ways to cool off, from milkshakes and sundaes to floats, hand-dipped ice cream, and other House Ice flavors.

Built in the Terada workshop in Nagoya — Gretsch’s flagship Japanese plant since the 1980s — this Purple Sparkle Hot Rod was assembled to Brian Setzer’s exact specifications. The 5-ply laminated maple body uses 1959-style trestle bracing for cutting projection, an ebony fingerboard for snap, and a pair of TV Jones Brian Setzer Signature Filter’Tron pickups wired through a stripped-down single-volume circuit — Setzer’s preferred setup since the Stray Cats years. The Bigsby B6 tailpiece and locking tuners keep the dive-bombs in tune.
A working stage guitar built by Japan’s finest luthiers, in a finish you’ll never confuse with anyone else’s instrument.

A signed Mickey Mantle. A Jeremy Bulloch-signed Boba Fett, an exceptionally rare find. The Maxwell BLACKsummers’night RIAA Platinum award presented to Naima Cochrane at Columbia Records. Fenton ruby and cranberry glass still in original boxes, from a beloved collector. Gilt cherub figural lamps, artist-made and artist-signed. In-box 1985 Playskool Raggedy Ann, untouched. Collector Mattel Barbie, never opened. And that Coca-Cola “Girl in the Yellow Dress” tray is an absolute original, priced well under WorthPoint solds.

Pulled this out of a buy last week and stopped working for the day.

H. Gerstner & Sons, Dayton, Ohio. The Rolls-Royce of wooden tool chests since 1906 — still family-owned, still hand-built in the same factory.

11 drawers. Quarter-sawn tiger oak. Diamond mirror in the lid. Hand-cut dovetails. Original green wool felt. Original wrapped handle. Original everything.

The lock plate is stamped “H. Gerstner & Sons / Dayton, O.” The factory stencil inside reads “Built by H. Gerstner & Sons / Dayton, Ohio.” Key code A50M22 — Gerstner still cuts replacement keys for $20 because the company hasn’t changed.

A new one of these from Gerstner today costs $1,600+.

Originally built for machinists. Now it’s a perfect home for watches, knives, jewelry, fountain pens, fly-tying kits, art supplies, or anything else you want to protect and pass down.

The Chi Chi Club, Palm Springs, California. Opened as the Desert Grill in 1936 and renamed the Chi Chi in 1941 under owner Irwin Schuman, it was THE celebrity hangout of Palm Springs’ Hollywood heyday — Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Dean Martin, and Merv Griffin all performed here. This promotional lighter was made by Atlas Industries of Los Angeles between 1942 and 1947 (dated by the wartime OPA price-ceiling marking). The Chi Chi Club was demolished in 1977. Tomorrow night at Salvage Goods ll Gilded, we’re introducing some beautiful new additions to our growing Gilded Soda Society experience… including an original vintage carnival hot dog cart and this nostalgic mid-century diner table and chair set that instantly transported us back in time. 🌭✨

These old pieces carry a feeling with them. The kind of tables where people once sat for hours over coffee, milkshakes, hot fudge sundaes, laughter, music, and conversation long before the world became so rushed. That’s exactly the atmosphere we’re trying to bring back to life inside Gilded Soda Society.

Paired beside our vintage soda fountain and Marilyn herself, the new additions feel like they stepped right out of another era. In honor of Marilyn Monroe, we’ll also be serving one of her favorite desserts tomorrow evening… classic hot fudge sundaes. 🍒

We’ll be honoring one of Marilyn’s favorite voices, Ella Fitzgerald, throughout the evening with timeless jazz and soothing music that helped define the era she loved so much.

Antonio’s Pizza next door will be serving your favorite adult beverages throughout the evening, or feel free to BYOB and settle in for a nostalgic night of shopping, music, sweets, conversation, and vintage atmosphere.
