Hello fiber friends near and far,
It's been a minute since my last newsletter update. I kept putting this off -- thinking if I could just figure out this one little problem, it would change everything. Ultimately everything has changed! Just not in the ways in which I expected. A long story much shorter -- I never found a retail space in the Orcas retail corridor that could accommodate the yarn store. And after countless attempts at creative pivots to cobble together an offering online, or with pop-ups and classes, the reality is that it is not a profitable endeavor.
While this experience of opening a fiber store and venturing into coffee shop owner has been immensely fun and creative... and humbling and educational, the time has come to throw in the towel.
I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to everyone who supported me along the way, either with a yarn purchase, a latte, or a "good yarn". I treasure the many friendships, moments of connection, and community minded activities I experienced on this journey.
I started this company with childlike optimism and deep knowing that this store and vision was meant to be. And even now, turning the page on this chapter, having learned so much about myself, my community, and the way of the world, I still believe that.
I'll try not to ramble too long!

I am looking to return to remote tech work, as I did for a decade+ prior to this adventure. Ideally I would like to work in the fiber and/or craft industry as a technical software project or program manager. If you have any connec..
