I’ve been working on this series of small, wheel thrown wall sculptures for the past couple of months and it’s so gratifying to see this family of work come to fruition. Each piece is unique in size and shape but undoubtedly connected. Surfaces range from sleek metallics to earthy, cratered textures. A couple of these sculptures have been raku fired, resulting in unpredictable crackle finishes flashed with a smoky patina - a violent process for such serenely beautiful objects.
I’ve been calling them “portals” because nothing else quite seems fitting. Like a little window into another dimension ✨ More to come!
Four of these beauties are in Minneapolis for the art sale November 20-22, with proceeds going to support student scholarships. These small works are perfect for new collectors or those with limited wall space and a desire for something quiet and elegant 🤍
