"Homeless Widow at the Rooftop Engagement Party"
The sky was painted gold as the city stretched beneath them.
Crystal glasses clinked softly. Laughter floated between candlelight and expensive perfume. It was the kind of evening designed to look perfect from every angle.
At the center of it all, he raised his glass â a self-made businessman with a story everyone admired.
Beside him stood his fiancée, smiling like she belonged to the life he had built.
âShe saved me,â he said, his voice steady.
âShe reminded me what love really means.â
The crowd leaned in.
Because everyone loved her story.
The way she always told it â soft, emotional, unforgettable.
âMy father used to say,â she began gently,
ââIn the end, love is the only thing we take with us.ââ
A pause.
A collective sigh.
And thenâ
A voice from the edge of the rooftop.
Rough. Quiet. Out of place.
âNo.â
Heads turned.
A woman stood near the entrance â clothes worn, hands trembling, eyes too steady for someone like her.
âYou donât get to say that.â
The music stopped.
The fiancée froze.
And the woman took one step forward.
âThat wasnât your story.â
A breath.
A heartbeat.
âThat was my husbandâs last words.â
The air shifted.
Not loud.
Not chaotic.
Just⊠wrong.

Part 2 reveals how she proves it.
