The original Sanders Furniture location was established in Commerce, Georgia in 1913 when M.T. Shephard Company that had been in operation for 50 years. Sanders began his career selling furniture from trucks and is credited with the originating the “dollar down, dollar a week” plan in North Georgia. The business grew and in the late 1920’s branches were opened in Monroe and Winder and in Buford an

d Elberton in the 1930’s respectively. Today, three of the five locations continue to operate and grow with their communities. Tom Sanders presides over the Winder location, James Lord manages the Elberton store and David Sanders maintains the original store. Here's something most people don't think about until it's too late: barstool height actually has a formula. 🪑

For a comfortable seat, you want about 9 to 13 inches between the top of your stool and the underside of your counter or island. Counter height surfaces (36") need a counter stool. Bar height surfaces (42") need a bar stool. They're not interchangeable!

Save this before you shop so you don't end up with stools that don't fit. 📐
