As some of you may know, I have been a volunteer with Humble Design Chicago serving families and veterans emerging from homelessness. We transform their empty rooms into warm, welcoming homes using donated furniture and home goods with a team of dedicated and talented staff and volunteers.
This year the need is great as so many families need support while they work towards a fresh start.

Family time around the dining table is a shared experience for bonding, story-telling and simply enjoying each others' presence. Even small projects can make an amazing change.
Recently worked with a client to update a bathroom base cabinet that provided her space with a renewed, fresh and clean feel. We worked with our local expert rep Ryan Seeger from N-HANCE Cabinet makeover to remove old doors, made a change to door styling and provided the client with needed drawer storage that eliminated counter top clutter. Enjoyed working with Ryan at N-Hance since they have a wide range of style choices with professional install services that compliment any home decor.
We then made a visit to the Schaumburg Studio 41 to meet with Jasmine Garcia. While their beautiful range of product assortments can be overwhelming she understood our need for a quick ship product and provided her professional guidance with making this beautiful new acrylic and metal cabinet hardware selection to enhance the clients transitional style.

Recently completed a flooring project involving removing clients old wall to wall carpet on 2nd floor and stair landing. Installed new LVT product to compliment 1st floor and specified a new custom wool stair runner selected with my talented flooring expert, Tom Kern at FCA in Naperville. Then worked with my local professional contractor Carlo Rivera at Homework by Carlos to repair and paint stairs in Sherwin Williams SW9541 White Snow. Client was very happy with our completed project that she can enjoy for many years of carefree use.

Small space "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree decorating idea I used this year. Picked up interesting found tree branches while out on walking trails near me. Then used my favorite Howard Elliott black folded linen vase with lighted branches and red glitter leaves in base. Hope you all have a happy and Blessed Christmas celebration.

Bill Lowe along with our Chicago Area Interior Design Society members and friends participated in a fun filled volunteer day installing multiple rooms of Christmas Decor at The Chicago Furniture Bank. Hope you'll consider doing some good with your unwanted and well loved home furnishings by donating them to this impressive charity. They continue to provide dignity and stability to Chicagoans that face poverty by allowing clients to handpick an entire home's worth of furnishings for free. www.chicagofurniturebank.org

Had a great day volunteering at the Gail Borden Library 15th Annual Comic Book Mania Event. Worked in a couple locations and enjoyed seeing kids and adults dressed in the superhero costumes.
