As I'm hand tooling the trim work on our hood cover my mind can't help but relate my actions in the shop to everyday actions in life.
I could do this with a table saw or a router and get it done in a fraction of the time.
This time is my peace.. this time is where I'm able to center. My thoughts reflect and think.. it's also my time to just let go and pay no mind.
The comforts of today allow us to speed through the process and jump to the next thing.
I don't think we're always meant to jump to the next thing as quickly as we can..
We need that time to create, to reflect, to dig deep in who we are and what we want out of this life.. and to just shut out the world for a little bit.
Yoga, meditation, Kata, cooking, sewing, pottery...
Just a few of many things that keep us grounded and allow us to refocus and maintain our peace.
