Hi, friends. Gruncle Millie here writing to you from the worst day of my life. I am deeply heartbroken to say that our last day of MyMy will be on April 30th. It seems cold to launch into an FAQ, but I worry that otherwise I’ll just dissolve into a digital puddle of tears, so here’s some details.
Why is this happening?
Small businesses are a barometer of a successful economy. Our economy is in an active tailspin and we are not immune. It’s not the fault of our amazing community and certainly not the fault of our staff, who are some of the best people I’ve ever known.
Have you tried [xyz]?
Short answer: probably. Many of the great suggestions we’ve received for keeping the space going have included taking out additional loans. I tanked my credit to get us open, and most loans are unavailable to me. On top of that, we don’t have enough time to pitch to angel investors dedicated to social good. Folks often ask if we’d go non-profit and that, unfortunately, also appears unwise right now.
What about the expansion?
When we started daydreaming about our new space, we were in great financial shape: paying off past debt, able to easily make payroll and rent, having enough left over for inventory. Unfortunately, the tides have turned in the past three months. Look out for amazing things in that space. We’re excited to watch the Labyrinth grow.
How can we help?
You can help us finish strong by shopping and maintaining memberships with us until then. I’m out of any personal capital and want my coworkers to be paid for the next 6 weeks as they figure out the next steps for their lives. Plz come hang out with us and send us some love.
I cannot thank yall enough for the support. This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I will never forget seeing it realized through the incredible folks in this community. We owe EVERYTHING to yall. All my love.
