Chad and I bicker all the time about the car. He says it's full and I say there's still plenty of room. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Do you know how many linens and little things I can squeeze into all those empty spaces? What's your take?

Do you still hang dry? I know I do and I absolutely love it. I have a big, old accordion drying rack for indoor drying but this collapsible antique rack is absolutely charming. This and many other items will be coming in on Friday. Open Friday and Saturday 11:00 to 4:00.

Yup, just living it up on a Saturday night by ironing linens while watching Masterpiece Theater. These gorgeous cocoa embroidered antique linen mats are worth it.

I can not even begin to tell you all how lucky I am to have this lady in my life. She is a pro at rolling with things and she always seems to bring an element of humor. Hope you all find this is funny as I do!

Fortunately, the weather has cleared a bit since she made this video and you can now get into the store without getting soaked. :)

Want to see what a $28,000 lamp looks like? Come by and check it out!

Seriously, someone has this lamp listed for $28,000. Always remember that anyone can ask any price for something, it's what it actually sells for that counts. And seriously, if you're going to sell a lamp for $28,000, I think your description needs to read more than "vintage ceramic lamp".

The first picture is ours and the second is a screenshot from their listing.

PS. We're asking $175 for our "$28,000" lamp. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I enjoy seeing something that was once popular but has gone out of fashion come back again but what I really love are the timeless things that will work now and in 30 years from now. I got lucky with a Wednesday estate sale today and picked up a ton of stuff including these beauties. While these won't be in the shop until next week, I did just add a ton of new stuff before I left yesterday so be sure to stop in and see Cheyenne this Friday and Saturday.

Heading back to see my mom today but spent all day yesterday and this morning putting out new arrivals and pricing a big shelf full of items for Cheyenne to put out. Here are just a few pics. My favorite is probably the antique Empire writing desk. The Sunbonnet Sue quilt, mid-century Lane Cedar chest, and the Jeddie Hensley painted griddle are standouts too. See anything you like? Open Friday and Saturday 11:00 to 4:00.

All I could do was laugh the other day when a woman visiting from out of town somewhat rudely suggested to me that I "just go and buy these things at yard sales and then bring them to the shop and mark them up." Welp, while this is occasionally true when luck is on my side, for the most part, she couldn't be more wrong. For every successful yard sale I stop by, I've driven to two or three where I've bought nothing, often because people are already asking shop prices from their homes. For every one piece that I bring in that does not require work, there are five or six that need to be repaired, stripped, refinished, de-stained, scrubbed, laundered, etc. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love what I do and feel fortunate to have been born into a family who has done this since the 1960s. I'm just making the point that there is no "just" in buying and selling old stuff, there is definitely a lot of time and work involved (and a shout out to my husband for helping with the many projects). I was reminded of all of this this weekend when I had to soak this beautiful tablecloth in 2 rounds of oxygen cleaner to remove the severe orangish-brown stains that had developed from being in a smoker's home for decades. Can you believe how brown that water is?

While I started by mentioning the snide remark that was made, I'll finish by saying this is definitely the exception to the kindness, love, and support we feel from so many of you on a regular basis. We are so incredibly grateful.
