We’re excited to announce the first Jerwood Art Fund Commissions - two bold new works that will bring fresh perspectives and dynamic storytelling to UK collections 🚀

🧵 University of Aberdeen will commission a new tapestry from Zimbabwean-Scottish visual artist Sekai Machache in collaboration with Dovecot, the world-renowned tapestry studio in Edinburgh, drawing inspiration from the University’s extensive collections.

📽️ Tate Liverpool in partnership with the International Slavery Museum will commission a powerful multidisciplinary installation by poet, filmmaker, and visual artist Julianknxx, exploring the experiences of Black communities in European port cities.

Our new partnership with Jerwood Foundation is dedicated to championing artists at pivotal stages in their careers while enriching public collections with ambitious contemporary art.

Applications for the next round of Jerwood Art Fund Commissions open in May 🗓️
