🎄🧶 A Handmade Christmas, One Square at a Time 🧶🎄
Christmas will be here before we know it, and this year I thought it would be fun to create something together that isn't about rushing, checking things off a list, or finding the perfect store-bought gift.
Instead, let's make something meaningful. ❤️
Starting this week, I'll be sharing a new granny square pattern every week in my group, all the way through Christmas.
For the next 18 weeks, you'll have a new square to enjoy whenever you have a little time to sit down with your yarn and hook. No pressure to keep up and no worries if life gets busy, just a new pattern waiting for you when you're ready. 🧶
If you wanted to make a 9–10 inch square, making just 3 squares a day for six days and 2 on the seventh would give you 20 squares by the end of the week.
Twenty squares makes a beautiful 4 × 5 throw something you could wrap up and give to someone special for Christmas. 🎁
And you don't have to make every week's squares into their own blanket!
You could:
Make a separate throw from a favorite week's pattern. Pick and choose your favorite squares to create a larger blanket. Use different colors to make each blanket completely your own
or collect the squares throughout the weeks and decide later how you'd like to put them together.
Imagine giving someone a blanket this Christmas and being able to say, “I made this for you.”
Not something picked up at a store. Not something made in a hurry.
Something made one square, one stitch, and one little bit of time at a time. ❤️
So grab your favorite yarn, your hook, and enjoy a little crochet time whenever you can.
