This past Thursday morning I offered the shop as a location for Joy and Janet to record an episode of Quail’s Knitting Nest podcast and they took me up on the offer. Quail’s Knitting Nest is a delightful and informative podcast concerning lots of fiber-y things and a pleasure to watch. You can check it out on YouTube, just search for “Quail’s Knitting Nest”.

Now that I’m back from my vacation in Scotland and have cell service again I’ll be sharing a few posts from my time in Edinburgh and the Scottish Isles, like this of my visit to the Harris Tweed Museum in Stornoway, Lewis. Learned a lot about all the regulations governing the production of Harris Tweed, including that every yard is hand woven by certified weavers on the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Check out the sheep’s head made of Harris Tweed!

We recently had our first PA Yarn Quest Passport holders visit the shop!
Nice to meet you, and friend!
If you’d both like to DM me your contact information, we will be having a drawing for a gift basket at the end of the Yarn Quest and I will enter your information since we didn’t do it at the time you were in (my fault!)

Photo courtesy of my travel friend Karen - knitted puffins with a crochet base seen on a Royal Mail box in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, Scotland. Didn’t get the time in Tobermory to scope it out myself but Karen was kind enough to share her photos. Love them!

Want a fantastic sport weight yarn for your summer knitting and crocheting? We have a great supply of Malabrigo Susurro! From the Malabrigo website -

“This breezy yarn is soft and light, making it the ultimate summer yarn. Susurro is 50% Mulberry silk, 25% Merino, and 25% Linen wound as a single ply into a DK/Sport weight. The fusion of these 3 very different fibers results in an amazing depth of color, giving the yarn an almost metallic sheen. This yarn has a marvelous balance due to the sharp contrast between the crude texture of the linen and the silkiness of the Merino.
Great for: Shawls, scarves, accessories, lace, textured stitches, cables, lightweight garments.”

A recent delivery of Isager Soft Fine has filled up our coffers of this fabulous kitten-y soft yarn! It would be wonderful in a Love Note sweater, or even a Ranunculus pullover as a lightweight summer cover-up. 🥰
