I just put the finishing touches on my first fillet knife. The blade is spring steel, 7" long with a total length of 11.75". The scales are GL Hansen and Sons brook trout pattern.

Today was graduation day. It has been the very best experience. If anyone is interested in bladesmithing, this class simply can not be beat. In addition to top notch instruction, I have made the kind of friendships that last for a lifetime! Huge thank you to the Bill Moran Bladesmithing College, Brion Tomberlin, Greg Neely, and Don McIntosh for all their hard work!

Day 5 at the Intro to Bladesmithing Class was spent at the grinder trying to wrangle yesterday's BAK (big a$$ knife) into shape. Can I just say the the grinders at the school are simply the BEST!!!

I spent the afternoon making another BAK (photo bombed by 2 great smiths, Chad and ). And the rhinoceros from day 3 got a nose job and looks a bit more like a knife now. 🦏

This weekend is the American Bladesmith Society Piney Woods Hammer In. I am looking forward to learning even more from the master smiths that will be teaching this weekend!
