We just want everyone to know that we will be open on the 4th of July. With Christmas coming up, now is a good time to get working on your Christmas quilt projects. If you are in need of any Christmas quilt ideas, come by the shop for a free quilt pattern. We will be open from 9am to 5pm on the 4th of July. We have long arm services available for any quilt tops you may need for Christmas.

We offer longarm quilting services for quilters for as low as 2 cents per square inch. Our long arm machine has a 12-foot frame, and we use the Butler computerized software that offers 100+ quilt designs. Come by the shop and see our long arm at work. Call us at 423-838-0469 for more information.

At Main Street Quilts, our specialty is making memory quilts and t-shirt quilts. If you have any old t-shirts, clothing, etc. we can make you a custom-made quilt. Prices vary depending on the size. We can make a lap or throw quilt starting at $150. Full or wall hanging quilts starting at $350. Queen Quilts starting at $450 and King Quilts starting at $550 on up. Why Do Quilts Cost So Much?
That's the big question most people have when they enter a quilt shop and see the prices on all the beautiful quilts. To make an average quilt it involves the following costs:
6 yards of fabric for a simple quilt top @ $8 per yard - $48
3 yards of backing @ $15 per yard - $45
3 yards of batting @ $15 per yard - $45
40 hours labor for piecing, binding and long arm -$292
quilting @ $7.25 per hour _______
Total Cost - $430

If you have a more detailed quilt involving custom
piecing like t-shirt or memory quilts add 20 additional hours of skilled labor @$15 per hour or $300. Total Cost - $730

These costs are based on average costs. Actual prices will vary depending on the size, type, or design of the quilt.
