On this beautiful, Monday morning, in a winter wonderland, and as the 2023 season in the shop comes to a close, so many memories of this season and seasons past come to mind. It’s been such a great ride. What started as a dream of owning my own business, to the physical work of transforming the milk house into The Olde Milk House Shoppe on those hottest days in the summer of 2016 to today. Man oh man, we sure did fast forward 8 years. Being a small part of so many Christmas surprises, marrying a sweet couple in the shop, and so many wonderful conversations with strangers that became friends, this time has been so special to me. We must not forget the paint and sips! How great were they? So much fun.
I have to share some news, even though I don’t really want to. The shop won’t actually be open next year as it has been for the last eight years. My back, my neck and my husband said I need to make a change. I will still make my creations and I will still have Christmas treasures available, I just won’t be in the shop every weekend from October to Christmas. I won’t be in the shop while the grandkids swim in the pool all summer, I will be on the deck too. I will still make treasures to sell, creating is part of who I am;
I just don’t know what it will actually look like yet. I am thinking I will post on facebook and have pick up times that work for my customers and for me. I will still honor any gift certificates that are out there too. Stay tuned for an exact plan. Lots of ideas are spinning around in my head, like visions of sugar plums! So, starting today, I am going to work less and play more. I am going to get to more hockey games with NH littles and not miss games around here. It’s time. Merry Christmas to all and thank you all for everything. I cannot put into words how much The Olde Milk House Shoppe and all of my wonderful customers have meant to me. 👩🏻🎨
