A small family farm, dedicated to using sustainable farming practices. We grow local hay and our sheep are raised naturally on lush green pastures,

We are located on 20 acres in the Veazie Valley of Enumclaw, WA. There is an ominous view of Mt. Rainier, ample pastures, a large hay field and comfortable housing for all. We started our flock with the purpose of producing highly prized fiber. The flock currently includes breeds chosen for their fleece and hardiness in the Pacific Northwest.

Amazing how fast things dry on the porch. I may complain a lot about the hot days but getting wool to dry in a few hour...

The dye studio is back in business. The first batch of scoured wool is back from the mill and the rest will be here this weekend. Working on a quick batch of firestar for a friend to kick things off. I haven't dyed in the summer months for several years. Now I remember why... it's HOT. The other half of the garage/studio is pottery... probably didn't help that the kiln was running today.

Working with long locks is not a fast or easy process. But I forgot so I took on the project. The fleece is Wensleydale. I carefully pulled all the locks, scoured, then dyed, then pulled the locks apart again as the ends tend to get grabby during dyeing. They are now bundled and will soon be available from Bless Ewe Sheep Company & Sanctuary . Most of the Wensleydale I use in my roving comes from this sanctuary so this project was a thank you. Most colorways will have multiple 2 oz bundled available.

Sad to report that I am unable to participate in the Enumclaw Plateau Farmers Market this week.

My next scheduled market is July 30th, and I will have a fresh new batch of painted yarn and some fun dyed locks that I am excited to share. I have also added an additional market date on August 27th. See you soon!

No events until next week (maybe jury duty tomorrow)... should I scour wool? Put a new warp on the loom? Card batts from the mill left overs? Spin the yarn for a new shawl? Or go pull weeds that are now chest high 😞.
