Hello! Little bit of a Rant.
We have had a few events that we have applied for in the past that state our badge reels, keychains and hair clips are made with pre-made patches.
While we do not make each feltie (we do not have embroidery machines), we purchase them from Lisa Terrian who does amazing work.
Alot of our popular comes on in on a sheet (20-26) depending on the style. From those sheets we cut strips than individual squares around each feltie. Followed by taking the stabilizer off the edges to make cutting easier.
Using precision scissors we cut around the edge of the embroidery than ensure no threads are showing. After that we attach them to the badges or turn them into the keychains/hair clips.
These are NOT premade patches purchased from Temu/Aliexpress. They are made by a small business who has the tools to create the amazing work. OUR hands take those beautiful designs and make them into the items you all love.
If buying from another small business due to not having the tools needed prevents you from getting into an event, than those event Coordinators need to re-evaluate people who sell cups and T-shirts with transfers (nothing against these businesses). These businesses purchase their supplies from somewhere to create their finished products. Just because the Coordinator is indifferent to those items, it should be used to punish some businesses and not others.
It takes HOURS to cut out each feltie before I even get the rest of the items ready, not to mention the indents in my fingers from the scissors.
Please support small businesses, who are trying to make it out there in a world who thinks all items are premade/mass produced somewhere else and than resold.
