I interrupt your scrolling for a quick picture of Duke + Hank (our new puppy) 🤎🐾

I get so many questions asking how Duke is handling being a big brother— and, happy to report, he’s literally the best! He is so patient with Hank, and they absolutely love to play together. It’s actually one of my most favorite things to watch.

I came around the corner today from my office, and these two were just staring at me from the landing on our stairs🤣

Lately, both of my kids have sports at the same time in the evenings, which means I’ve found myself with a little quiet time at home while I make dinner.

I’ve turned it into a routine I really look forward to—light a candle, turn on some music, pour something good to drink and make dinner surrounded by little things in my kitchen that I love.

It’s a good reminder that you don’t have to completely redo a space to enjoy it more. Sometimes a pretty dish, a favorite cookbook, a candle burning or the coffee mug you reach for every morning is enough to make the everyday feel a little more special.

I love my little dinner-making ritual, but my favorite part is still when my people walk back through the door and we get to enjoy it all together. 🤍

Because really, that’s what making a home is all about.
