I’m at the register, mid-sentence with a customer, while the customers in the booth next to me are shopping…

…and then, mid-sentence, I catch a glimpse of HER.

I practically break my neck trying to see this swung vase sitting in the booth beside me. 😂

I’m sorry, but I had to stop myself and say, “I’m sorry, but I LOVE swung vases. Just LOOK at her!”

And look at her I did. 😍

The big bottom.
The big mouth.
That ridiculous, glorious shape.

Sometimes working at 814 Vintage Marketplace means trying to run a business while simultaneously falling head over heels for something across the room. 😂

During the pandemic, I started following a girl who visited cemeteries and cleaned headstones, and I remember thinking, I would love to do something like that someday.

In 2025, I finally had the opportunity. I helped clean the cemetery at the Soldiers & Sailors Home and was honored to be part of their reveal celebration. It was such a special experience.

I’m a little embarrassed that I didn’t realize Erie Cemetery had been doing this all summer 😅 But as we approached one month since my dad’s passing, it kept popping up in my feed. Then my sister sent it to me, and I knew I needed to do it.

So, to honor Dad, we chose a rather challenging one. 😅 As we started uncovering layers of the years, we discovered that a Mason by the name of James Williams was laid to rest here. I’d love to do a little research on him when I have the chance and learn more about the person behind the name.

There was something incredibly peaceful about putting on my headphones, listening to Pink Floyd, and spending a beautiful summer evening in a beautiful cemetery, restoring a little piece of history and honoring someone who came before us.

It was surprisingly cathartic—and it felt like a really beautiful way to honor Dad. 🫶🏻

If you’d like to learn how to properly clean headstones at Erie Cemetery, I’d love to coordinate a little group of us to go together.

If you’re interested, comment below and let me know what evenings or weekends you’re generally available. Maybe we can spend some time together uncovering a little history, one stone at a time—and perhaps discover a few stories along the way. Because if there’s one thing Dad would have loved, it would have been finding out who these people were, what they did, and the stories behind the names.

I think he would have loved this. 🪦🫶🏻

🎭 Okay, THIS is one of the secretly cool things about 814…

Our very own Michael Valentine is currently playing Jean Valjean in Les Misérables at the Savannah Theater, and it got us thinking…

We really do have one heck of a cast of characters under this roof. 😂

Our vendors include farmers, veterans, artists, race car builders, photographers, muralists, educators, makers, collectors, history buffs, and a whole lot of people who are just ridiculously talented at something.

And then there’s Michael, casually out there starring in Les Misérables.

You come in to shop for an old lamp and somehow end up surrounded by this wildly talented, wonderfully weird collection of humans.

Honestly, that might be one of our favorite things about this place.

So much talent. One heck of a roof. ❤️

2026 has been brutal. So many familiar faces and voices have been lost this year, and seeing them together really puts into perspective just how much entertainment history disappeared in such a short time.

From beloved actors like Catherine O’Hara, James Van Der Beek, Eric Dane, Sam Neill and Hayden Panettiere to music legends like Dolly Parton, the losses have crossed generations, genres and completely different corners of pop culture.

Dolly Parton’s death at 80 was followed almost immediately by the loss of Tim Curry at the same age, making the final days of August especially difficult.

Each of them left behind characters, songs, performances and memories that millions of people grew up with, which is why seeing so many names disappear in one year feels especially heavy.

I really hate 2026. It feels like every few weeks another piece of the entertainment world we grew up with is gone.

Warehouse Wednesday 🏡

New furniture, artwork, home décor and plenty of pieces with a little history are rolling into the Warehouse!

Why buy brand new when you can spend the same—or even reasonably less—and bring home something well-made, full of character, and built to have a story?

Because sometimes the best things for your home aren’t the newest things. They’re the pieces you’ll still love years from now. ❤️

Come wander the 13,000 square feet and see what’s waiting for you.

Rest easy, Queen. 👑✨

From being a badass on film in 9 to 5, to belting out Jolene, Dolly Parton was never just a country music icon. She was a force of nature wrapped in rhinestones.

She gave us songs, laughter, cake boxes, big hair, bigger dreams—and a little bit of magic wherever she went.

And perhaps most beautifully, she gave children books. Through Dolly’s Imagination Library, she helped put millions of books into the hands of little ones and gave them something priceless: a world of imagination to call their own.

That was Dolly. She could make you laugh, make you cry, make you sing—and somehow make the whole world feel a little kinder.

So tonight, we’ll turn up Jolene, remember the woman who taught us to dream big, and raise a little glass to a life lived in full color.

May the stars be a little brighter, the angels a little louder, and heaven a whole lot more fabulous tonight.

Rest easy, Dolly. 👑💖✨

🔔🎶 When I wake up in the morning… 🎶🔔

You know that bell in the first photo? That’s where this whole post started. One look at an old school bell and suddenly we’ve got the Saved by the Bell theme song stuck in our heads. 😂

And since it’s back-to-school season, it seemed only fitting to follow that bell with a little vintage school nostalgia — old books, college collectibles, and plenty of pieces that might have you remembering your own school days.

So whether you’re shopping for the new school year or just shopping for the memories, we’ve got you covered.

🔔 Consider this your official bell… class is in session at 814 Vintage Marketplace!

🐝 Okay, vintage people… I need your opinion.

Our honey guy has beeswax, and I have been telling him for approximately forever, “I want to sell your beeswax!” 😂

So… here we are.

And before you ask… YES, beeswax can be surprisingly handy around an old house.

Got a stubborn vintage drawer that refuses to cooperate? 🗄️ Beeswax can help lubricate wooden drawer runners and get those sticky drawers sliding a little easier.

It can also be useful for:

🪵 Conditioning and protecting certain wood surfaces
🧰 Lubricating wood-on-wood moving parts
🧵 Conditioning thread for sewing projects
🪑 Furniture care & polishing
🕯️ Making your own candles
🥪 DIY beeswax wraps
🐝 And all sorts of vintage, crafty and DIY projects

Basically, it’s one of those old-fashioned things that actually has a whole lot of uses.

So here’s what I want to know:

Would you buy raw beeswax at 814 Vintage Marketplace?

Would you use it for furniture restoration? A sticky drawer? A DIY project? Something completely different?

Tell me what you’d use it for, because if you guys say “BRING ON THE BEESWAX”… I think our honey guy might have himself a new product. 🐝😂
