Update on Scramby

We have some exciting Scrambelina news!

Tomorrow her foster mom is taking Scrambelina to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Highland Heights for her big sleep over.

Tuesday she will stay at Metro and receive fluids to help her kidneys and prep for surgery. Wednesday she will undergo her big surgery to fix her soft palate!! Thursday she should be released.

We are excited and nervous for her surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts over the next few days and we will post updates as we receive them. 🙏🏻

Current mood: realizing it’s Sunday evening and the weekend is almost over. 😐

Even Beethoven looks like he’s mentally calculating how many things he was supposed to get done before Monday.

🚨 Fun Fact Alert 🚨

This isn’t a fire alarm…

It’s a manual mustard gas alarm.

Mustard gas (sulfur mustard) was a chemical warfare agent used during World War I that could cause severe burns, eye injuries, and respiratory damage. In the years leading up to and during World War II, communities and military facilities prepared for the possibility of chemical attacks, and alarms like this were used to warn people to take protective action.

Thankfully, most of us have never had to hear one in action.

It’s a fascinating reminder that history isn’t just found in textbooks—sometimes it’s hanging on the wall of an antique shop.

One of my favorite things about vintage is discovering items that make you stop and ask, “Wait…what is THAT?”

Well…this escalated quickly. 😅

We started with a 34-passenger bus.

It sold out.

So we quietly expanded.

Then those seats started disappearing too.

So now we’re bringing the BIGGEST bus available.

The wild part? 44 seats are already spoken for.

That leaves just 12 seats remaining.

If you’ve been waiting to decide, now’s the time. The people who have gone on our previous trips know these adventures are about more than shopping. They’re about the stories, the laughs, the treasures you find, and spending the day with people who get just as excited about the hunt as you do.

Once these final 12 seats are gone, that’s it. There is no bigger bus.

🖤💚 Strange and unusual… and apparently hiding all over the marketplace. 💚🖤

While walking the floor today, I started noticing a few pieces that were giving off major Beetlejuice vibes. A little quirky. A little spooky. A little “this definitely belongs in a house where the handbook for the recently deceased is required reading.”

From bold black-and-white patterns to delightfully odd décor, these finds feel like they stepped straight out of a waiting room in the afterlife.

The best part? None of this was staged. These are just random treasures that found their way into the same building… proving once again that vintage shopping is wonderfully weird.

This is pretty awesome and so are all those kitty pictures!!! 🐈‍⬛

We thrifted the chandelier and lava lamps. My husband rewired the entire thing, slapped some spray paint on it to make it all 1 color and voila… I am now the proud owner of a lava lamp chandelier.
