Market is not just about seeing what is new.

It is a chance to step back, look at where buying decisions are shifting, and think through what your customers may respond to next.

Right now, retailers are being more selective with what they buy — paying closer attention to freshness, perceived value, texture, scale, and pieces that feel worth the space they take up.

Raquel Ramey will be at our upcoming shows, bringing years of experience working closely with buyers across different markets. Her perspective is shaped by the conversations she has with customers, what she sees retailers prioritizing, and how product needs change from one market to another.

Strong visual merchandising is about knowing where to create impact—and where to create space.

This arrangement uses a large piece of artwork as the visual anchor, with the warm wood cabinet below reinforcing the color story. The cream chair creates contrast against the darker furnishings, while varying accessory heights add dimension throughout the presentation.

The opportunity is balance. When several large, dark accessories are grouped in one area, they can begin competing with the furniture beneath them. Editing the grouping slightly would give the stone tabletops more visibility and create a clearer visual hierarchy.

Strategic negative space can be just as valuable as the products themselves—helping customers see, understand, and appreciate each piece.

A showroom doesn’t come together by accident.

Behind every styled corner, product grouping, and transition is a lot of thought about what buyers will see, how they’ll move through the space, and how they’ll imagine those products in their own stores.

That’s where Alex Ulichny comes in.

With more than 13 years of experience in home décor — along with a background in visual merchandising, fashion design, product development, and marketing — Alex brings a unique perspective to Deco Marché’s showrooms.

Having lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, California, and even spent a year in Europe, Alex has been exposed to very different styles, markets, and consumers. That perspective influences both how he designs our showrooms and how he looks at new products.

For Alex, it’s about more than making a display look good.

He considers where a product belongs, what should sit beside it, how one style flows into another, and how the entire presentation can help a buyer envision a collection on their own sales floor.

That same thinking plays an important role in new product development. Newness isn’t simply about finding something different. It’s about finding pieces that feel fresh, connect with emerging trends, complement the larger assortment, and ultimately make sense for our customers.

And sometimes, the most interesting displays come from combinations you wouldn’t necessarily expect.

That’s the goal: help buyers see the possibilities.

Here’s Alex doing exactly that — bringing another Deco Marché showroom display to life.

A great display doesn’t just make products look good—it makes the assortment easier to understand.

When shoppers can immediately picture pieces working together, a console table becomes more than a standalone item. It becomes a starting point for discovering complementary products across the floor.

That’s the opportunity behind thoughtful merchandising: helping customers see possibilities while giving more of your assortment a reason to be noticed.

The best storage assortments don’t all look the same — and that’s the point.

For retailers, storage is a category where variety matters. Different customers are solving different problems: a narrow cabinet for a small entryway, a sideboard for dining storage, a statement chest for a bedroom, or an accent piece that simply makes the room more interesting.

When evaluating your next storage buy, look for a mix of:

• Light, natural, and dark finishes • Compact and statement-making silhouettes • Drawers, doors, baskets, and open shelving • Versatile pieces that can merchandise across multiple rooms • Decorative details that create a reason to stop and look

The takeaway: don’t build the category around one aesthetic. Build it around how your customers actually live and shop.

A thoughtful mix gives your team more merchandising flexibility while giving customers more opportunities to find the piece that feels right for their space.
