It is Finished Friday, and this week we are celebrating Karen Abrahamovich's finished 2025 Yankee Pride Fall Mystery Quilt, which took home a blue ribbon at the Champlain Valley Fair. Congratulations, Karen. Well deserved.

This feels like the perfect moment to remind you that the 2025 Mystery Class Reunion is coming up on Saturday, September 12th from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Bring your mystery quilt, finished or not, and come share what you made. No sign-up needed.

And if you have been thinking about joining us for this year's mystery quilt journey, the 2026 Fall Mystery Quilt Class with Judy Thomas starts Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 am. Registration is open at the link below.

What if you did not know what your quilt would look like until the very last class?

That is the idea behind our 2026 Fall Mystery Quilt Class with Judy Thomas. Over eight sessions starting September 19th, you will build your quilt piece by piece, following step-by-step instructions each time you meet, without ever seeing the full picture. The design is revealed only in the final session.

Judy has been designing mystery quilts for years and has built a devoted following for them here in Vermont and well beyond. Eight sessions, one big reveal, and $25 to get started.

September 19, October 3, October 17, November 7, December 5, January 9, January 23, and February 6. All sessions at 10:00 am at the shop in Essex Junction.

Save your seat at the link.

We love sharing stories that remind us why quilting matters. "Fractured, Not Broken" is a powerful collaborative quilt made by incarcerated Vermonters and community members in Brattleboro, on display at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center from September 9 through November 1. Go see it if you can!

A quilt stitched by incarcerated Vermonters and Brattleboro community members will go on display this September after nearly a year of collaborative work designed to build connections across prison walls.

UPDATE: The machine has found a new home! We’re glad the pictures brought some of you down memory lane. We loved your comments and reminiscences!

FREE!! This White Rotary treadle machine in a beautiful wooden cabinet with 3 drawers is free at the shop. Stop in to take a look. It would make a beautiful conversation or statement piece. The cabinet is still in great condition, but the machine definitely would need work. It's very heavy, so bring a strong helper if you want to take it home with you.
