Tulla Twinkle from Louisa Harding is a delightfully soft, worsted weight blend of wool, cotton & synthetic fibres in dreamy pastel colors. A thin metallic thread runs through the yarn, adding soft flecks of sparkle.

I think this yarn is especially fun for children (although adults will like it too). The Terrazzo Sweater Junior from Petiteknit would be a great pattern for this yarn.

The Balete Cardigan is another design that I think would be perfect for Tulla Twinkle. I love a hooded cardigan for kids and this one has some nice details. The pattern goes all the way up to adult sizes, so you could also make this one for yourself.

10% of all sales made that day will be donated to our local Breast and GYN Health Project.

Curious about knitting or looking to brush up on the basics? Our Drop-In Learn to Knit class is perfect for brand-new knitters and anyone who could use a refresher.

Offered monthly, this relaxed, come-as-you-can class covers knitting fundamentals at a comfortable pace. The October dates are Saturdays, October 10 & 24, from 11 am - 1 pm. Cost is per class. Please sign up for the day you'd like to come.

We’ll work on skills such as casting on, the knit and purl stitches, reading simple patterns, fixing common mistakes, and binding off. Whether you’re picking up needles for the first time or returning after a long break, you’ll get guided, hands-on help and plenty of encouragement.

No long-term commitment required—just drop in, learn something new, and enjoy the rhythm of knitting in a supportive, social setting!

The Tributary Yarns Color of the Month for October is here!

This month's color is inspired by the work of the local textile artist, April Sproule. April makes beautiful collages with fabric, thread and stencils. This color was inspired by one of her pieces.

The color is called April's Textiles and it is a moody blend of pale terracotta, burgundy, blue and orange.

We have two options for this color, our Stream Sock base or the River Silk and Merino base.​

We dyed our Stream Sock 2.0 base as well as a few skeins of our River Silk and Merino base. If you love our colors, you can sign up for a subscription to receive a skein of the Color of the Month each month!

I've decided to do a Year of Sweaters 2027! Together, we’ll knit four sweaters over twelve months.
​
Each sweater has a different stitch technique, so you will practice stranded colorwork, Intarsia, slipped stitches and steeking! You can choose which of the four sweaters you want to make—knit all four or select just the ones that inspire you most.

Sweater #1 is a top-down, raglan in all-over colorwork in a Sport/DK weight yarn. We are making the Gytha pullover by Amy Gunderson. We will meet Saturdays, January 16 and February 20 from 2-4 pm. Join us in person or via Zoom.
