GOLDEN HOUR in the home office never looked so chic.
contrary to what you might think, enveloping a room in wallpaper or a saturated color doesn’t make the space feel smaller.

Does your home office need a little Zhoosh? A one room makeover is something that I typically only accept if I can have complete creative freedom and a healthy budget to allow the beautiful things that you deserve and expect when working with a pro. Here we have an inspired space measuring 13’ x 8’ quickly becoming everyone’s favorite room in the house. Small space style really gets me giddy.🐆

Hi, anyone new here? I’m Maria.

My design journey started long before I called myself an interior designer. As a young actor on a commercial set, I was fascinated watching an entire world being built around me—beautiful, intentional, completely manufactured.

That experience sparked a lasting love of creating environments and telling stories through them.

Decades in production eventually led me to interiors, where that same instinct continues to shape my work.

A little introduction through a very personal space: my own kitchen.

This Historic greatroom was refreshed to enhance its natural beauty. The Antique mirror fireplace was a large undertaking but a necessary step to highlight many of the original details throughout the room. This project allowed me to exercise all my creativity and restraint.

Being the steward of an old home doesn’t mean it can’t feel completely like you. It’s about honoring the history, craftsmanship, and details that can’t be replicated, while thoughtfully making the space your own.

The best renovations don’t make an old house feel new. They let its history live on while giving it a new chapter.

Not all hardware is equal. Adding doors to a tight space was limiting so we opted for a barn door. I knew a chevron door was the perfect candidate for practical and pretty reasons. The leather wrapped door handle adds so much character and warmth.

The busiest corner of the house is obviously in the kitchen where the sink, fridge and coffee maker intersect. When a floor plan doesn’t allow for generous spaces, every inch matters and must be accounted for. Three cabinet finishes create a layered and warm foundation for a workhorse of a space.

My number one goal was to make this kitchen feel as though it had always belonged to this deeply storied home.

Natural materials—Negresco granite, Paonazzo marble, ceramic tile, and Venetian plaster—bring warmth, durability, and a sense of permanence. Aged brass and polished nickel layered throughout the hardware, lighting, and plumbing add to the collected story.

We embraced the home’s original red oak floors, carrying their warmth into the cabinetry with two distinct wood stains.

The goal was never to make an old home feel new. It was to make it feel like itself, only more us.
