Friday she was a tempestuous mistress. Screaming her name. She wanted to be sure in our first meeting that I saw her. Not the fancy buildings. Not the people clambering to use her. She wanted me to know her essence. Her power. Her name.
I captured that. Honoring her wish in a painting I call.
The Reclaiming.

Painting "Down the Rabbit Hole" progression. I love it when my paintings become soft serene like a wedding bouquet and then smile malevolent as they decide to become a Mardi Gras full of mischief. Last one still white with fresh Mod podge can't wait til it dries and the flowers underneath can give a hint of color beyond the tye die inks. 👍❤️ .s.yoder

Laura Art Laura Yoder Started a new painting last night. Exploring the unique situation with my eyes. Losing 30%of my retina has left my brain scrambling to figure out what's real, what's missing,
It's called "down the rabbit hole"
My good eye sees as Alice does before she falls down the rabbit hole. What you see is what you get. My new eye Sasha, sees expansion, possibilities in the small door, the bottle, the mushrooms and the Cheshire cat.
Can they find what they need in each other? Or will they fight against each other until my brain is exhausted and gives up?
