A little staircase appreciation post because there’s a lot more to stairs than meets the eye.

Wood finishes, railing styles, balusters (yes, those little things that hold up the railing), stair treads…the list goes on. So many details to play with and so many ways to make a staircase its own moment.

Four different projects, four very different staircases, and a few of our favorites along the way!

Small but mighty and where a whole lot happens around here.

Our studio is where ideas get tossed around, plans come together, samples pile up, and projects start to take shape.

Heading into the weekend feeling extra grateful for a full studio, a busy schedule, and so many exciting projects in the pipeline. Lots to look forward to around here!

It’s not every day we get to design a party barn, and this one is shaping up to be something pretty special!

A little Americana meets rustic chic, with a mix of blues, reds, greens, and plenty of personality. From the kitchen and dining spaces to the living room, loft, patio, gold room, and all the fun details in between, there’s a lot to play with on this one.

A sneak peek at the materials coming together for our Southport Party Barn project. We can’t wait to see this one come to life!

We finally made it to the weekend and there’s been a lot happening at Carta lately 👀

Wallpaper going up, custom upholstery coming together, stone shopping, installs, design planning, site visits, and plenty happening in between.

A little behind-the-scenes look at what’s been keeping us busy!

Some transformations are a little more extreme than others…and this one definitely packed a punch.

We took this powder room from bright and simple to about as moody as it gets. Custom marble sink, aged bass hardware, color drench in a deep limewash paint, and sculptural lighting all work together to give this tiny room a whole new personality.

Not every project makes it in front of the camera, but that doesn’t make it any less special.

For this New Jersey home, we had the chance to work on everything from the family and dining rooms to the foyer, powder room, and bedrooms — creating a home that felt beautiful, functional, and most importantly, like them.

We’re so grateful to clients who trust us to do our thing, welcome us into their homes, and make the process just as fun as the finished product. This client was truly a joy to work with, and words like these mean the world to us!

A kids’ room should feel playful, a little unexpected, and definitely not too careful, and that was exactly the brief for this one.

One room, two beds, and plenty of space for imaginations to run wild. A little whimsy, lots of room for play, and details that give the space a personality all its own.

Because the best kids’ rooms are the ones they’ll remember growing up in!

A little BTS from a recent shoot day in Westport 🎬
Six spaces, eight hours, lots of shuffling, fresh florals, plenty of tweaking until everything was just right… and many baked goods and sandwiches to keep us fueled along the way.

No matter how many shoots we do, there’s always something new that keeps us on our toes. This time? Getting the perfect powder room shot meant removing the window treatment and shooting from outside the window in. Whatever it takes!

We’re so lucky to work alongside incredible creative teams like Adam Kane Macchia and Taylor Fleming who help bring it all to life, not to mention the very patient homeowners who let us take over their happy place for the day and do our thing.

This home will be a multi-phase project for us, which makes it especially meaningful to keep being invited back to create together. We can’t wait to see how these turned out and share the finished photos with you!

Sometimes the design choices that make the biggest difference are the ones that change how you experience a space.

For this entry, we replaced a solid wall with a more open architectural detail, still providing the structure the space needed, but without cutting off the line of sight. A new door and side panel brought in even more light, while a reclaimed wood cabinet created the perfect little key drop moment just inside.

More open, more functional, and a much better flow from one space to the next.
