Design Pet Peeves…Interior Designer Edition 👀
We all have them — and these are a few of mine that can completely change how a room looks and feels.

✨ Drapes Floating Mid-Air
Curtains should never awkwardly hover above the floor. Hanging drapery higher and wider than the actual window — ideally from ceiling to floor — instantly makes ceilings feel taller, windows feel larger, and the entire room feel more polished and expansive.

✨ Rugs “Floating” in the Middle of the Room
A rug should ground the s**ce, not drift in it. Ideally, all front legs of the furniture should sit on the rug to create a cohesive conversation area. Bonus: a larger rug actually helps a room feel bigger and more intentional.

✨ Artwork Hung in the Stratosphere
Art should be enjoyed without craning your neck. A good rule of thumb is to hang artwork so the center sits around 60–65 inches from the floor — roughly eye level for the average person. Proper placement creates balance and connection within the s**ce.
