Here’s something a little different. We have a bit of a quandary regarding our future intern’s living situation. She doesn’t have a whole lot of room in there, but the changing table we purchased, though lovely, took up the more than half of the space. The solution was to make a foldable changing table that can convert onto a desk when she gets old enough. It’s not perfect looking, but it’s really functional and made of reclaimed mahogany, and how many babies can claim that?

Four blanks and four pens. All are going to be available at the Oakland Outdoor Market with Arts In Oakland tomorrow. The first is a maple blank dyed red and finished with a friction polish. The second is a custom blank of ebony, pale moon ebony, Cocobolo, and mahogany finished with CA glue and polished to a high gloss. The third is what we call “grab bag” of whatever I pulled out of our scrap bag again finished with CA and polish. The last is lovely mahogany with a friction polish. All are available, and we are having another super sale for back to school. Stop by and say hi.

Sometimes you have to take a break from making things to just spend time with your family. My wonderful parents came up this weekend to spend some time with my future shop assistant, and we made the most of it. It’s always great to spend time with my adorable daughter and beautiful wife. I love you all more than you could know.

We had a good day at the shop yesterday in preparation for with Wise Animal Rescue next weekend. We have a whole bunch of new cutting boards getting ready, a helpful guide for those wanted custom work done, and even had time to make a new clicky pencil for Gabby Goldman. We will be at The Punk Rock Flea Market for the SUMMA’ SIZZLA’ 2026, and we will be bringing the heat. We are looking to sell our backlogged stock of pens and pencils, so for our patrons at the NJPRFM we are having a “Holy Crap This is a Crazy Recession” sale. All back stock pens and pencils are $55 for Saturday only. Come by and say hi!

We have some new products incoming. Featuring our very own mascot Tipu as a keychain, the Jolly Gentleman Pancake as well, and he and our kitten Rizzo as earrings. They will be available at the Wise Animal Rescue Barknic next month.
