Whew that's a doozie!!! Super rewarding piece to recover. Recliners are basically like covering 3 chairs all in one.

Leather is a real beast to work with. It's incredibly thick but is worth it because of the variations in the finished product.
I love jobs like this!!!!!!
Will try to get pics after the pieces are installed. We'll see.

This is the original needlepoint!!! All hand woven, I don't know, maybe 250 years old?? In exceptional condition but the webbing in the seat had started to sag and the decorative nails on the very outside back were causing damage to the wall so we removed them. So this will let them continue to use it in this commercial setting.

The finished product. I honestly thought I took some pics along the way but I don't have any of it before.
I took this frame apart, reglued it, touched up the wood, had to rewebb all the arms and back, refluffed the feathers, wrapped the cushion with dacron, grew the pattern, and made the double welt.
AND it's a polished cotton!!!!!!
Whew.
It's easy for people to think "Oh, it's just a little bitty chair, it's not that much work. It's just a small chair. It's small. It's an easy job." (Customer did NOT say any of that but I have heard it in the past) But these ones are the hardest. There's absolutely zero room for error. If there's a flaw in the material there's no way to fix it. Fabric rips unexpectedly? No where to hide. Bad cut? Nowhere to conceal it and no way to pull it over a little. Everything has to be exact and you only get one shot because there's only 5 yards of fabric.
Gotta get it right the first time.

I would love a competition where people try to do this exact job.

So rewarding. Okay. On to the next one!!

(I had nothing to do with the curtains and I don't know who did)

It's tough running the page, running the business, doing the work, staying on top of everything, making sure I have something to do in the future, etc. (not to mention LIFE)
Throw a sinus infection on top and it's like playing Jenga on a boat.
Hanging in there.
Okay, time for some new projects.
