There's something about an American front porch in July.

As kids, many of us spent summer evenings on one. Watching fireflies. Listening to crickets. Waiting for the first fireworks to begin. Talking with family until long after the sun had gone down.

Those simple moments become the memories we carry for the rest of our lives.

Rebecca and I are incredibly thankful to live in a country where we have the freedom to build a small business together, tell stories, create with our hands, and chase a dream that once felt impossible.

We don't take that for granted.

Today we're grateful for our country, for the freedoms we've been blessed with, and for the generations of Americans who have protected them through courage and sacrifice.

We hope your Fourth is filled with family, laughter, good food, and memories worth sticking with you for a lifetime.

Not every lesson comes from a classroom.

Some are learned beside a campfire.
In a workshop.
On a fishing boat.
In a garage.
From the front seat of a pickup truck.

The best fathers teach us far more than skills.

They teach us integrity.
Responsibility.
Perseverance.
Faith.
How to stand when life gets difficult.
How to keep moving forward when giving up would be easier.

Some lessons are spoken.

Others are taught by example.

Today we honor the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures who helped shape who we are.

Taking time to remember the sacrifices made by our fallen service men and women is noble and honorable.

But may we also remember the lives that came before the sacrifice.

These were children to parents.
Friends who ran and played through neighborhoods.
Classmates.
Husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters.

They grew up.
They learned.
They laughed and cried.
They felt joy, fear, hope, pain, love, and purpose… all the things you and I still have.

And they laid all of that down for freedom. For people they would never meet. So that others could continue holding the lives and people they loved close.

Sure, it hurts to remember.

But we owe them that.
We owe them the honor they earned.

Rebecca and I are deeply grateful for our service men and women, both living and gone... for their courage, their sacrifice, and their willingness to stand between danger and the people they swore to protect.

May God keep their minds sharp, their hearts fierce, their hands strong, their feet agile, and their spirits forever free.

And may they always feel our gratitude, our prayers, and the love this nation still carries for them.

What happens when two lovers pledge themselves to one another beyond the grave?

When a curse prevents neither death NOR life from touching their existence together?

We tend to think about our fragrances in two ways.

First is Fragrance; the scent itself. The atmosphere it creates. Smoke, spice, woods, rain, old books, candlelight, dark florals, forgotten places...

Sometimes October feels so far away it aches somewhere in my chest.

Not because life is bad. Life is amazing!

It feels more like.... an old friend has gone away for the summer.

That friend is cool nights and orange skies. Ghost stories and candlelight. Warm spices, hay rides, grinning skellies, and mysterious things moving around in the shadows.

Candles like 'Vampire Crypt' remind us of that old friend because it smells earthy and woody with cool resins, and damp stone; spooky but so good!

All of our Haunting Aromas remind me of some part of that time of year. 🕯️

I’ve done a bit of work on the website to streamline navigation and try to make things easier to find.

The menu is reworked and now you can shop by product (candles, wax melts, beard oils, etc) or by scent category.

I added our best selling fragrances to the top row and added a section down the page where you can check out our different themes. If you want spooky scents, we got ‘em. If you want Irish themed ones, those are there too!
